5 Stars for all but Cease Fire ... gets only 1

Loved this series and all the characters with the exception of Jules in Cease Fire. There. isn't any redeeming qualities about her. Struggled really hard to finish that one and fast forwarded through most of it. If I hadn't bought the box set, I would have returned that book .

I looked forward to this third book but was disappointed it was just a female narrator. These books definitely need a male voice. Layla drove me crazy and I find it hard to believe Harris would put up with her crap. Who in there right mind would be more concerned about sex than saving your own life. She didn't seem that ditzy in the other books and Harris seemed more in control.

WASTED 31 HOURS AND A CREDIT

I love to use my credits on book bundles, getting more for the price of one. When I checked the reviews this seemed like it would be a good choice. I liked the reviews so much I even got The Club Trilogy and book 4 of the Club. I read Josh & Kat first, which I should have read after The Club but that wouldn't have changed my review.
I'm no prude but there is such a thing as using too many F-bombs in a sentence. I also cringed every time it was combined with Jesus Christ. Like I said, I'm not a prude or holy roller, I enjoy kinky romance all day long but try to expand your vocabulary. These two came across as so immature and I would have kicked Kat to the curb after the first tantrum. The story just didn't have a good plot or flow for me.
John Lane has a nice voice and did justice to Josh. Lauren Rowe sounds way too young and sometimes her inflections and tone made me cringe. Now I'm backtracking and starting The Club Trilogy. I'm hoping for better.

Good story, Not so good narration

I bought this box set because it sounded good and it was a lot of book for 1 credit. I enjoyed the stories but it did get a little repetitive listening to the 5 book one right after the other. I think a lot of the problem was with the narration. Guillaume Dubois has a nice voice but all the characters sounded the same. I had a hard time knowing if it was the H or h "talking" or one of the other brothers or women. They ALL sounded alike. Would have been much better with a female narrator too. It's sad when when the narration takes away from the quality of the book.

Female Narrator Blows It

This is pretty much for the series. I really enjoyed the series and the stories of the Stone family. I wish I could re-listen with a different female so I could get more lost in the story. I'm disappointed that the female narrator left me with such a negative impression that it takes away from the overall story. Many times I was close to giving up because I couldn't take it anymore but the story kept me going. Why she felt the need to whisper ... and it seemed to get worse as the series went on ... I will never know. Surely that isn't a normal voice for her. Jason Clarke is awesome and saves this read. Maybe it says something when the reviews are more about the narrator and less about the book.

I couldn't get through this. The narrator just didn't do it for me and I couldn't get into the story enough to try to get past her.

I know this is the first book in this series but I have listened to them all. I really enjoyed the story that Lisa created. The characters are interesting and likeable. I would have liked to have had more story involving her past and the danger her brother brought to her.

The only negative I have is the narration by Grace Grant. Jeremy York was phenomenal, as usual but Her male voices grate on my nerves. They are choppy and stilted. The cadence is very slow and sound so unnatural. It really distracts from the story. I love Lisa Renee Jones and look forward to listening to her books but cringe when I see Grace Grant is narrating.

The story was so, so. it had good premise but sometimes I just cringed at the description of how things were handled by the fire and police departments. A little unrealistic at times. Narration was OK but not nut difference between male and female voices. Glad it was an AE choice.

The stories were good and kept my interest, however, the narrator was no good doing the male portions. So many times I was confused and thought she was reading the female part only to realise that is was the male. This book would have been much better with either s different narrator or a male and female reading.
