The narration was solid. Good descriptions. The plot had promise. Yet, Jenny, the main character, is ridiculous. Surrounded by good people, she’s still self destructive, and whiny. She has chosen to chase her abuser without a net. I listened to the end but, sorry, I wouldn’t recommend. It was annoying with her silly choices, snotty attitudes, and lack of self knowledge considering all her therapy.

It shows that good literature stands the test of time. This is the book that began the mystery-romance-noir genre. Great character development, location descriptions, and narration. It will keep you on tenterhooks with twists, turns, and surprises.

I appreciate getting a free audio book via Plus Catalog. This book was well narrated. Great descriptions of the location and characters. However, the characters became more unbelievable as the story moved forward. Which became a bit annoying and a bit ridiculous. Not sure why these 6 people would ever choose to get together. It was unrealistic to me.

I really enjoyed both Seasons 1 and 2 of this podcast. A quirky noir feel to the entire series. There is lots going on which makes it interesting. I couldn't stop listening. Great descriptions of the locations they investigate. Characters are interesting, eccentric and original. Narration was great as well as the sound production. Looking forward to Season 3 even though Season 2 only came out a few days ago!

But within a day of landing in the charming seaside town of Port Stewart to work on her latest book, she's getting calls and texts for some dude on her new number. Weird ones. Sad ones. Sexy ones. The story was interesting and layered, weaving different types of believeable characters. The narration was awesome and hit all the right notes. Joe was a bit naive at times in his choices (e.g., chasing criminals for confessions) however weren't we all a bit naive at that age? A really good listen and held my attention.

I love all of Adrian McKinty's books. Descriptive story with strong characters. You get a strong sense of how it was to live in Belfast during and after the Troubles. Gerald Doyle's narration is perfection for me. Mr.McKinty knows how to tell a tale with lovely detail, dealing with rough issues and also using humor. Sean Duffy is a complex character who sees beyond the obvious. I look forward to more books by this author using the same narrator.
