Story
The gigantic comet had slammed into Earth, forging earthquakes a thousand times too powerful to measure on the Richter scale, tidal waves thousands of feet high. Cities were turned into oceans; oceans turned into steam. It was the beginning of a new Ice Age and the end of civilization. But for the terrified men and women chance had saved, it was also the dawn of a new struggle for survival--a struggle more dangerous and challenging than any they had ever known....

Fantastic story, very gripping

The overall read was captivating, and matched the period piece of the plot. I had to remind myself that I was reading a work of fiction. Several times. Amazing story highly recommended. I’m looking forward to reading more books by this sci-fi duo

Story
Winning today isn't about beating the competition at the old game. It's about inventing a whole new game - defining a new market category, developing it, and dominating it over time. You can't build a legendary company without building a legendary category. If you think that having the best product is all it takes to win, you're going to lose. In this farsighted, pioneering guide, the founders of Silicon Valley advisory firm Play Bigger rely on data analysis and interviews to understand the inner workings of "category kings".

Get your notepad ready, your brain is gonna need to dump some genius on the page. I recommend this book often, and I regularly come back to chapters and notes taken. I'm a big fan of Christopher Lochhead, and his podcast(s) - this channel of business education is integral to the foundation of any venture... if your intention is to be successful in change-maker kinda way. The companion book, Niche Down is also a winner.

If this book does not inspire deeper questions within the reader, then a critical self analysis and self audit must be initiated. I was astonished at the depth of research and numerous references, to studies, doctors, scientists, journalists, advocates, etc. This is a must read for anyone who has children.

The year is 2048. Climate change and bio-warfare have ravaged much of the Earth, and societal meltdown has splintered the US into fragments. But out of the ruins, Northern California has built a thriving culture based on respect for the four sacred things: air, fire, water and earth.

deep threads of relevance

i’ve been aware of this book for 2 decades; its one of those books i knew i’d be called to at the right time. the threads of relevance continue to deepen, especially now in 2019. this is a great visioning of post apocalyptic possibilities, conscious and woven with natural law. i’ve already recommended to several friends, and the performance invited me deeper into the characters. excellent book all around. excited to read the sequel.

Story
Coyote America is both an environmental and a deep natural history of the coyote. It traces both the five-million-year-long biological story of an animal that has become the "wolf" in our backyards and its cultural evolution from a preeminent spot in Native American religions to the hapless foil of the Road Runner. A deeply American tale, the story of the coyote in the American West and beyond is a sort of Manifest Destiny in reverse.

Coyote Consciousness
Reviewed: 04-13-17
My intrigue about this book came from listening to the author's interview with Joe Rogan. As a great fan of Wiley Coyote, and having had several run-ins with coyotes throughout California, this book gave context to my mysterious fascination with them. It's a different kind of wisdom, and a non-linear logic that I really appreciate. The stories and factoids in Coyote America are remarkable, and I've already recommended this book to my trickster friends and family. A great read for long drives.

This is the most in depth account of one of the greatest humans in history that I've read, AND kept my full attention all the way through. It's not every audiobook that has me saying "Wow" aloud.
I have recommended this book to a dozen people since starting it, and I recommend it for anyone looking to understand an alternate history, over 800 years old, that can be traced to the here and now of your life.

Neal Stephenson is a blazing new force on the sci-fi scene. With the groundbreaking cyberpunk novel Snow Crash, he has "vaulted onto the literary stage." It weaves virtual reality, Sumerian myth, and just about everything in between with a cool, hip cybersensibility - in short, it is the gigathriller of the information age.

A deep dive into a barely graspable future, logically familiar. I usually listen to audiobooks while doing other tasks, but this one commanded my full attention and imagination. If I decide to listen again, I'll probably pick up new layers of detail and dimension. Recommended.

Story
From Andre Agassi, one of the most beloved athletes in history and one of the most gifted men ever to step onto a tennis court, a beautiful, haunting autobiography. Agassi brings a near-photographic memory to every pivotal match and every relationship. Never before has the inner game of tennis and the outer game of fame been so precisely limned. In clear, taut prose, Agassi evokes his loyal brother, his wise coach, his gentle trainer, all the people who help him regain his balance and find love at last with Stefanie Graf.

He writes in the rhythm of tennis. Poetic metaphors volley, self-sabotage backhands, struggle at the net of Self. Rewarding to hear Andre's story from Andre. I went into Open with high expectations and I was engaged the whole way through. Highly recommend.
