Thought experiments are “what if” scenarios that invite us to look carefully at how we think and view the world. They’ve been used throughout history by philosophers and other thinkers to explore our intuitions and ways of reasoning, to find solutions to problems, and to expand our knowledge of ourselves and the world. In these 24 eye-opening lectures, Professor Breyer takes you deeply into the historical tradition of thought experiments, shining a light on both the purpose and the outcomes of these compelling mental voyages.

A great indepth overview of Neuroscience!
Reviewed: 12-16-24
Neuroscience for Dummies provides a highly organized insight into Neuroscience. Strongly recommended. It is not only a study of neuroscience for the novice, or the student, it is a great overview before the classes begin. It also, recommended for the professional, because it is Thought Provoking and answers the question: Now that I know everything, what did I miss? It would be valuable for MID-Career review, because it provides a means to question what you know and what you’ve forgotten or lost sight of…. Hopefully an updated edition would be best for this review, and If not available the original would do. Also, this book is recommended for the patient of a neurologists, because it enhances the patient understanding of: what’s going on? What’s the doctor is saying? aFinally, it plain interesting and fun to read!

When Nancy Friday began her research for My Mother/My Self in the early 1970s no work existed that explored the unique interaction between mother and daughter. Today psychotherapists throughout the world acknowledge that if women are to be able to love without possessing, to find work that fulfills them, and to discover their full sexuality, they must first acknowledge their identity as separate from their mother’s. Nancy Friday’s book played a major role in that acceptance.
