Robert E. Howard created more than a character or literature molded to theme--he produced something that seems living. There is an "immersion" inherent in the Conan saga that simulates savage reality in the imagination like nothing else I've ever encountered.

In terms of this audiobook--it's awesome! Todd McLaren does a superb job of capturing the energy of the scenes as well as the quirks and idiosyncrasies of the varied characters.

It's short and sweet, but points at the elephant in the room. There are so many overlooked aspects of the self that can remedy a business's or personal affliction. The tenets suggested in Managing Oneself will likely urge you to examine possible areas of negligence/opportunities for growth.

I would go so far as to say that On The Shortness of Life is essential reading (or in this case listening); however, the narrator was just painful to listen to. His pronunciations were flawless, but his voice was banal, flat, and dull. The entire time I was bored, checking to see how much longer would I have to endure listening to this guy. It reminded me of high school, when the teacher would coerce people to read aloud for the class... only this time it was the whole damn book.

Get On the Shortness of Life, but I'd strongly encourage you get a different narrator.

This book may not sound like it's profound on the surface. If you come in thinking that there may be an answer to living a more extraordinary life, I'd say it's definitely there.

Think of how many how-to books there are now. Think of how many people are reading them are still reading MORE books to achieve something more. Clearly the how-to is not the problem; there is a fundamental understanding that is available in this book--the difference that makes all the difference. Listen to this more than once!

I honestly looked forward to every second I spent dedicated to listening to Effortless Success. I have been exposed to so many axioms and their various interpretations that have left me with more questions than answers, yet this is one of the rare programs that provides not only practical wisdom to countless, real questions but also settles the stirring mind and heart, leaving nothing but a sense of knowing and peace.

If I had to sum it up in a few words: Expect to be delighted and inspired to change (for the better).
