Story
If being my wife was something galactic women could apply for, they’d happily die for the opportunity. I am a Lyran Metamorph god. I am the god of night. Shockingly, this human female only wants to return to Earth. I fear she will not pass the three challenges to become my wife. I must woo her and inspire her. This human must succeed. If she fails, we both die. Our destinies are intertwined. We must be victorious.

This is just about the strangest sify romance I've ever read. It was not for me at all. The beginning of their sexual relationship was dragged out, annoying, awkward and not very sexy to me. But the language is not bad and if these sex scenes floats your boat, then this book might be for you. At least it's original!

The writing isn't terrible, it's a bit simpering at times, but if you like the lily white Christian type of "romance" you might like it. It was decidedly not for me though!

Paint your toes. Pick up the wrong coffee and bagel order. Drive from Brooklyn to Jersey in traffic so slow you want to tear your hair out. It’s amazing all the useless things I can accomplish while on hold for three hours with customer service. Three hours when I should be getting the Date-in-a-Box website ready to launch at the big business expo in a few days. Except my shiny new website is glitching, and my inner rage-monster is ready to scorch some earth...when he finally picks up. Not the robot voice I expected but a real live human named Kal.

Story
What started out as a strange assignment leads to one of the most gruesome murder mysteries of our time, and my friends and I are set and determined to find out who is killing off Fae and Witches alike. Couple of problems in the way - I hate the Fae, and the Prince of the Dark Fae is bound and determined that I work for him. He’s a rude, overbearing, egotistical ass with a compulsive need to possess, dominate, and control me. Oh - did I mention that he is absolutely sex-on-a-stick gorgeous and he makes me feel things that I never ever wanted to feel for a Fae....

The female lead is beyond stupid!
Reviewed: 05-17-21
If you enjoy a sex offender slash slaver as the male lead and a truly thoughtless female lead, then by golly this is the book for you!
Sad thing is that the story itself isn't the worst but the lead characters are horrible! How can a female author write a woman like this? I'm sad to say I think it's lazy, unimaginative plot tools.

I have to say it felt very much like rather immature male fantasies. Not terrible, but really noting to turn the key for most female listeners I should think.

Sadly lacking in personality and story.
Reviewed: 02-15-19
The dragon is supposed to be over 500 years but behave like an uncertain 20 something with frankly not much to brag about in the brains department. The female love interest is so boring you have to wonder what attracts the guy at all. The "bad guy" is a female dragon who is absolutely ridiculous and seems to have been even more unfortunate than the male dragon when intelligence was handed out. The story is so thin that only the most stubborn and persistent listener will manage to hang on until it's over. Really, if it hadn't been for the fact that the narrator does a good job I wouldn't have even if I always finish a book.

In many a very traditional romance novel with engaging characters and a sweet story. It isn't anything revolutionary but should provide you with exactly what you want if romance novels are your thing.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with this, I just don't think it's the genre for me. Very much like an old-fashioned detective novel in a newer setting.
Will Patton is very good, excellent in fact, but I unfortunately see his face in stead of the character he is reading as and it sort of distracts me.
