Story
Toby Cynster is not amused when informed that his new mission is to be his last in the shadowy service of Drake, Marquess of Winchelsea. Courtesy of Toby being the last unmarried Cynster of his generation and the consequent martial obsession of his female relatives, he will be given no more excuses to avoid society and, instead, expected to devote himself to finding a suitable bride. But Toby sees no point in marrying—thanks to his siblings, he has plenty of nephews and nieces with whom to play favorite uncle, and he has no thoughts of establishing a family of his own.

I absolutely loved Toby and Diana’s story. Drake sent Toby on a mission to Vienna to retrieve papers and escort the Doctor and his daughter safely home.
Diana was still shocked her father was gone but she was determined to find the dispatches her father hid to give to Drakes man. When Toby arrives he finds out the Doctor had died and his daughter was at a friends home taking care of 3 children. When he locates her they decide to try and find the dispatches but when they arrive at her father’s home was torn apart and the culprit still in the home. Diana was shocked to find out it was her father’s partner. That’s when she realized he had poisoned her father. He escapes but then killed, that’s when Toby realizes he needs to get Diana home to England. The children’s father asks Toby and Diana to escort his children to their Great Aunt. They agree and decide to say they’re a married couple traveling with their children.
A wonderful intriguing story with a beautiful ending. The narrator was absolutely magnificent.

When she told everyone to go to him he realized everything she did was for the betterment of his people. As they grew closure he realized he wanted her for his wife. When she returned to her family after 7 yrs of banishment, they all realized her step mother has been manipulating everyone. Such a beautifully written story with a perfect ending.

It was a great story and the narrator was good. But the last chapter didn’t seems right. The 17 chapter should have been like Chapter 3. It goes from getting two of the traitors to the day after the initial ball that was in the beginning of the book where the person was killed. I would love to know how it really ended before the next book. Confusing

Forgiveness and Love

Loved Greer and Rodericks story. Greer injured Roderick by accident several years ago. He left humiliated but his leg never healed completely. When Greers father told her he has invited several men she might chose a husband from she wanted to rebel. Instead she took her boat out for one last trip with her dog. When she got caught up in a storm she thought she would die when she was thrown overboard.
Roderick was coming back from getting his stolen cattle when he saw something on the beach. What he saw tugged at his heart, it was Greer and he needed to save her.
What neither realized at first but it was fate that brought them together. A wonderful story with a beautiful ending.
Antony Ferguson is an exceptional narrator.

Loved the 2nd book in the series. Lady Sybil’s family has fallen from grace and her brothers have fled to France. She was hiding from the Queen when a Highlander walked up to her and told her she was his contracted bride. When she looked at the contract she knew it was a forgery by her brother George. But to save herself she agreed to go.
Rory came to claim his bride and new his lowlander wife might be a problem. But he knew he needed to keep her safe. Rory finds out on his was home that his brother who was chieftain was murdered and beheaded. He needed to find out why his brother left the safety of his clan to go find him.
This book has everything from intrigue, scheming family, passion, lies and love. Can’t wait to listen to the next in the series. Derek Perkins was an outstanding narrator.

Story
Already notorious for the golden hair that proves her mother’s infidelity, Lady Joan can’t seem to avoid scandals, but her latest escapade may finally ruin her: she’s determined to perform the title role of a prince - in breeches, naturally. She has the perfect model for an aristocratic male in mind: Thaddeus Erskine Shaw, Viscount Greywick, a man who scorned the very idea of marrying her. Not that Joan would want such a dubious honor, of course.

I had to listen to all the Wilde’s again until I got to Joan’s story. Loved Thaddeus and Joan. All she ever wanted to do was act on a stage and when she gets a chance thanks to Thaddeus help she decides it’s not for her. She never anticipated falling in love with the future Duke. Thaddeus had been loved by his mother but his father the current Duke lived with his mistress and their family together. He threatened that he would tell the world that he was not legally married to Thaddeus mother unless he gave up the title so his son with his mistress can claim the title. Thaddeus always knew his father hated him. With Joan’s help she gets him through it and he falls in love with her. A beautifully written story. Can’t wait to read more on the family.
