Story
What’s the cost of comfort? In The Fever, playwright, actor, and cultural icon Wallace Shawn (My Dinner with André, The Designated Mourner) captures the crisis of conscience of a privileged American traveler visiting a war-torn country. Faced with the disparity between her rarified world and the real world, she can’t help but wonder if she’s part of the solution or part of the problem.

I love Lili Taylor, but this story wasn't great.

I've Loved Lili Taylor's work ever since the the first independent film I've watched her in. She did a great job with a less than interesting story. I actually listened to it twice because I wanted to like it and I thought maybe I missed something, but there wasn't anything really to miss.If it weren't for her I'd probably only give this one star all the way

Story
Just as I Am is my truth. It is me, plain and unvarnished, with the glitter and garland set aside. Here, I am indeed Cicely, the actress who has been blessed to grace the stage and screen for six decades. Yet I am also the church girl who once rarely spoke a word. I am the teenager who sought solace in the verses of the old hymn for which this book is named. I am a daughter and mother, a sister, and a friend. I am an observer of human nature and the dreamer of audacious dreams.

tyson, I was absolutely lost in this book. I felt like I knew her like she was a dear friend having grown up in Harlem and having traipsed along the same streets in Harlem growing up, it also brought back dear memories of my own. this book was well written well researched and well read. even if you're not a stone cold fan of Cicely Tyson this book is a wonderfully interesting read full of historical data and great anecdotes. You won't be disappointed!

Story
This live performance of a powerful police procedural comes to life through the artistry of Celeste Lecesne and is accompanied by the original music of Duncan Sheik. Celeste portrays every character in a small Jersey Shore town as they unravel the story of Leonard Pelkey, a tenaciously optimistic and flamboyant 14-year-old boy who has gone missing. A luminous force of nature whose magic is only truly felt once he is gone, Leonard becomes an unexpected inspiration as the town’s citizens question how they live, who they love, and what they leave behind.

The performance was out of this world. James Lecesne brilliantly read all the characters to life, every accent, and tempo just made the book all the more engaging. The story, though tragically bittersweet was entertaining. I appreciate the message, soo real even in this day and age, and thanks to the unfortunate current political climate we ( LGBTQ ) are left two steps forward- three steps back!!! Thanks for this book!!
