huge fan of the 1st book but not a fan of the politics that are slipped in with our real world. I buy books to get away from the day to day stuff and by ch 7 a huge hot button is just casually dropped like fact. idk how it is presented just not a fan of how it was done it was a huge break from the emersion. felt like it was just added in during editing for a little extra. just hoping it was just that one time love the characters and would hate to have to return the book because it becomes a soap box for political points of view.

Cool concept poor execution... so poor

This is one of the few negative reviews I have given. This book comes off like a first draft, the story needs to be filled out. It just feels like the author has a general idea of what he wants, but just not how to fill in anything in-between, this would have been better if he just turned it into a Murderhobo group, instead of whatever it is he was trying to do. I like the skill/magic/items system but characters are all unlikable and 2D. I tried very hard to finish but I could not I made it 2/3s or so through when I just had enough, it took way to much effort to try and listen and force myself to care. I do not recommend. I do hope the author trys again but this was a huge miss for me.

1st the good the narrator is on point and one of the only reasons I finished the book besides the Ryun chapters.
now the bad author became lazy with Zach trying to power him up to Ryun.

author makes life defining choice based on his past and how he did not help Ryun then 15hrs later never mind that does not matter and here is a huge boost to your stats for working that out and I do mean huge. then now you are a limit breaker and don't need to restricted by the framework because you helped free a creature that is know to be evil which is 100% against zachs character. ton of other things. I did finish the book but it was rough. fyi not happy still thinking if I should return it or not
