Story
Revolutionary War officer Nathan Hale, one of America's first spies, said, "Any kind of service necessary to the public good becomes honorable by being necessary." A statue of Hale stands outside CIA headquarters, and the agency often cites his statement as one of its guiding principles. But who decides what is necessary for the public good, and is it really true that any kind of service is permissible for the public good? These questions are at the heart of James M. Olson's book, Fair Play: The Moral Dilemmas of Spying.

Story
Robert Sapolsky’s Behave, his now classic account of why humans do good and why they do bad, pointed toward an unsettling conclusion: We may not grasp the precise marriage of nature and nurture that creates the physics and chemistry at the base of human behavior, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Now, in Determined, Sapolsky takes his argument all the way, mounting a brilliant (and in his inimitable way, delightful) full-frontal assault on the pleasant fantasy that there is some separate self telling our biology what to do.

Story
Every leader must be ready and willing to take charge, to make hard, crucial calls for the good of the team and the mission. Something much more difficult to understand is that in order to be a good leader, one must also be a good follower. This is a dichotomy - a Dichotomy of Leadership. It is, as authors Jocko Willink and Leif Babin explained in their best-selling first audiobook, Extreme Ownership, “Simple, Not Easy”.

the beginning of the book was well blanced between 10 mintue story, 10 minuteslessonslearned , 10 minute civilian application. towards the middle and end it started to turn to 30 minutes of story, and only 2 minutes worth of getting to the point of the lesson, and 10 minutes of civilian application. I love war stories as much as everyone else, just wanted to hear his direct example and how he applies it to current times. I feel the new stroy for every lesson is just trying to rebuild my trust in that i know what hes talking about. But im allready sold, just tell me your opinion and lessons, i allready believe you provide value thats why i bought the book.

it was interesting and provided a different perspective to when trump topk office and some events leading to the prior election. there is a decent amount of time dedicated to saying how hab for the country trump was going to be, but there was never really a comparison to previous presidents and how kuch of their statements were debunked and proven wrong or illegitimate. every president lies, and every president had a hidden agenda. i would like to see when you use a statements such as "trump had 245 uses of this fact that was proven wrong" please cite a relatable number of a previous presidentn because we started an entire war on a completely false lie. so hes far from the first president that the agencies tried to sway in one direction.

Story
The media often suggest that Russia poses the greatest threat to America's national security, but the real danger lies farther east. While those in power have been distracted and disorderly, China has waged a six-front war on America's economy, military, diplomacy, technology, education, and infrastructure - and they're winning. It's almost too late to undo the shocking, though nearly invisible, victories of the Chinese. In Stealth War, retired Air Force Brigadier General Robert Spalding reveals China's motives and secret attacks on the West.

Story
Economic sanctions dominate the landscape of world politics today. First developed in the early twentieth century as a way of exploiting the flows of globalization to defend liberal internationalism, their appeal is that they function as an alternative to war. This view, however, ignores the dark paradox at their core: designed to prevent war, economic sanctions are modeled on devastating techniques of warfare.
