it has been my intent for 30 years to read this book. I never got around to it.
I have just finished it, and am amazed that it is still so relevent to the western mind.
Funny beyond expectation, i found myself laughing out loud on several occasions.
More interesting are all of the cultural references that i have missed for years, and am just noticing now.
The book is long, and it hinges on the absurd at times, yet still it comes through. M. Cervantes pokes fun at himself, his book, his profession, and the world in general. Take a chance......discover a new world.

Charming, Interesting, so easy to comprehend.
Bill's charm is intact, which, at least for me, was in question after reading "The Road to Little Dribbling."
It is the mate to A Short History of Nearly Everything,
Although all of this information is available, no one else can tie factoids into such marvelous little stories.
I learned a lot, and sometimes just paused to marvel at the miracles that Bill Bryson unveils.

Saw it all happen, but didn’t connect the dots like the author did. Time to man up.

To glib for my taste. Joseph must have been bored when he wrote this. Not near his best

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

While the main character was a bit shallow, the spy craft carried the day. I found this book interesting

What other book might you compare Red Sparrow to and why?

Gorky Park

Random and disjointed. Couldn't stand another minute after diving in for three hours.

Has Her Body and Other Parties turned you off from other books in this genre?

Absolutely.

What aspect of Amy Landon’s performance would you have changed?

No problem with the tempo or timber of her voice.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

None that i can think of.

The dusk moods of his Russian novels is absent, replaced by the expressive meanderings of an American torn between an unexpressed duty to himself, his girl, his friends and his country and his recklessness, born of neglect. A nice backdrop to the Japanese war.

This recording left me in awe of the great man, and his humanity. I will very emotional at the end of this book, feeling the loss to all of us.

It is clear that this was a bait and switch. Too descriptive on non-essentials. Lacks gravity
