BOOOOORING

Painfully repetitive, this book crams three very boring stories (a war, someone’s dreams, and the main storyline) into one confusing mess. The plot is entirely predictable with no twist or substance, and is often downright stupid. It drags on and on... and on, endlessly recycling scenes and phrases. I skipped ahead in frustration and missed absolutely nothing, proving just how empty and tedious it is. Avoid this disaster.

The twists really got me. It's been a long time since I read (heard) such a well thought out plot. Bravo to Allen Eskens.

The content itself is ho hum - nothing you haven't already heard unless you're a complete newbie to social media and logic. And the narration makes it a painful listen.

While I normally love Stephen Fry's books, this one fell miserably short for me. I tried 4 times to get into it, re-starting it from scratch on completely different days, thinking perhaps I just wasn't in the mood for it on the previous attempts. But nothing worked to make it better, my mind kept getting bored and wandering off thinking of other more amusing and less confusing topics, so I eventually gave up on it. .

The author (who is also the narrator)'s voice is very melancholic. It made me feel quite sad at times. But his writing is wonderful! I laughed out loud quite a few times.

12 hours too long - it could Easily have been summed up in 8 hours Max. I stuck it out only because of Kevin Pierce, and even then I just couldn't finish it, I accepted defeat 2 hours before the end. Repetition after repetition. Hours of my life I will never get back.

It was an audio snippet I received on social media that made me buy this book, simply to fact check before I sent it on. And holy s!h|' was I shocked when I realised it was a true recording of him, not an audio deepfake. Haz, the victim, made me oscillate (yes I used THAT word), between wanting to scream with irritation and wanting to vomit.

I'm telling all my friends and everyone I know, NOT to buy this book. The self-pitying boo hoo doesn't deserve a single cent from the public. It's hideous and many of his claims in the book have already been proven to be false.

Watch the South Park episode on H & M, his victim bride, instead. It's a laugh a minute and tells you everything you need to know about these two charlatans.

Brava! I cannot count the number of times I rewind a few seconds in one of Jodi Taylor's books, just to hear a passage again, for the pure joy of how she writes. That coupled with Zara Ramm's performances - I'm not just a fan, I'm an addict.

I learnt some deep truths about myself here. Something I was not expecting. Things I knew deep inside but couldn't put into words. And now I can.
