Story
In The Paleo Manifesto: Ancient Wisdom for Lifelong Health, John Durant argues for an evolutionary - and revolutionary - approach to health. All animals, human or otherwise, thrive when they mimic key elements of life in their natural habitat. From diet to movement to sleep, this evolutionary perspective sheds light on some of our most pressing health concerns. What is causing the rise of chronic conditions, such as obesity, diabetes, and depression?

More than just a diet book

I enjoyed the history and evolutionary explanations for many things humans have done to survive. Many good discussions on where we should go from here and why certain paths are not as healthy as other paths. I am going to buy copies and send to my kids. I wish this book was around when I was 20.

Story
Fumio Sasaki is not an enlightened minimalism expert or organizing guru like Marie Kondo - he's just a regular guy who was stressed out and constantly comparing himself to others, until one day he decided to change his life by saying goodbye to everything he didn't absolutely need. The effects were remarkable: Sasaki gained true freedom, new focus, and a real sense of gratitude for everything around him.

Story
The Bhagavad Gita, "The Song of the Lord", is the best known of all the Indian scriptures, and Easwaran's reliable and accessible version has consistently been the best-selling translation. Easwaran's introduction places the Gita in its historical setting and brings out the universality and timelessness of its teachings. Chapter introductions give clear explanations of key concepts in that chapter.

Very well done. Excellent choice for the reader/performer. I feel like I understand some of the relationships with Buddhism better. I have not listened to other translations, but I am very pleased with this excellent work. I will definitely be listening to this book multiple times. A lot of the ideas seem simple, but will take more study to really understand. This book would be good for those of all religions and for agnostics looking to find peace and meaning in their life. Some of the parts reminded me of several Bible and Quranic passages. I feeltthat in some ways it gave me greater understanding of those Bible passages. Thanks.

Dish up the red meat, eggs, and whole milk! In this well-researched and captivating narrative, veteran food writer Nina Teicholz proves how everything we've been told about fat is wrong. For decades, Americans have cut back on red meat and dairy products full of "bad" saturated fats. We obediently complied with nutritional guidelines to eat "heart healthy" fats found in olive oil, fish, and nuts, and followed a Mediterranean diet heavy on fruits, vegetables, and grains. Yet the nation's health has declined. What is going on?

Another example of a situation manipulated by either government, wealthy people or big business. When power or money is involved usually the little guy suffers.
When scientist have such little integrity and so much bias, how can we trust anything they say. Keep that in mind when you talk about vaccinations, global warming or any of the other topics where we are expected to blindly trust the scientist and government.
This book is very good at helping you come to your own decision on which type of diet you might want to maintain. Read this book and a few more discussing types of diet and come to your own decision what to follow.
