Story
Fourteen-year-old Ozzy lives near Portland, Oregon, and is desperate for help. His scientist parents have been kidnapped after discovering a formula that enables mind control. Their work was so top secret that Ozzy is afraid to go to the police, but without help, he fears he'll never find his parents. Then he stumbles across a classified ad in the local newspaper that says "Wizard for Hire. Call 555-SPEL." Ozzy has read about wizards in books like Harry Potter, but wizards couldn't exist today, could they? After Ozzy meets the wizard Labyrinth - a.k.a. Rin - he's even more skeptical.

Story
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Great summary of the book. The reason for the 3 star rating is that the book was supposed to include a pdf version too and that was not included.

Story
In Everthing Is F*cked, Mark Manson turns his gaze from the inevitable flaws within each individual self to the endless calamities taking place in the world around us. Drawing from the pool of psychological research on these topics, as well as the timeless wisdom of philosophers such as Plato, Nietzsche, and Tom Waits, he dissects religion and politics and the uncomfortable ways they have come to resemble one another. He looks at our relationships with money, entertainment, and the internet, and how too much of a good thing can psychologically eat us alive.

Don’t waste your monthly credit...

In face don’t even get it as your free book, because you would have wasted your one free book from audible. The nostalgia from his last book fueled me past the first few chapters with the HOPE that it might get better, but it never did. Much like eating gas station sushi, this book left a horrible taste in my mouth followed by the urger to get on my knees and pray for the multiple hours of pain (brought on by said sushi) would end. I don’t know what I expected but this wasn’t it. There are even a few chapter or sections when Mark speaks about building a religion, which reminded me of a poor regurgitation of Jamie Oliver’s skit from his HBO show when he created a church as a joke, that had me thinking what the f*ck did I get myself into. Finally there is the way Mark ends the book, wow, not only could I feel my eyes rolling uncontrollably but it brought the fear that there might be a sequel to this book which if there is any one thing we could HOPE for is that either A.I will stop this or someone will nuke the planet before it is published.
