Enjoyed the return of characters I liked from previous books. Wish the ending were a bit different, but understand the likely reason behind it. Looking forward to the next Milton book.

Laugh out loud, steamy Rom-com!
Reviewed: 08-24-24
Thank you Meghan Quinn and KP Simmon for the ALC. This book was delightful! When I learned about this book, I was excited to start reading it because I thought that the previous book, Bridesmaid for Hire, was hilarious and fun! I liked Everly‘s character from Bridesmaid for Hire, and looked forward to learning more about her personality. When Everly and Hardy would have inner monologues when they were around each other, I felt their nervousness and excitement. Or cringed with them with embarrassment. Sometimes it was a challenge to follow the shifting dialogue between the characters’ inner thoughts and back to the conversation without seeing (literally) the quotation marks.
Everly has been one of my favorite romance heroines because she is witty, has a good sense of humor, is vulnerable, but also passionate. She has weakness for this man, and it shows when she tries so hard to be strong and resist him, yet she simply has to give in to her desires.
The book is narrated in duet by Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke. I think all romance books should be narrated in duet. Samantha was a perfect Everly, and Jason’s voice is so seductive (except when he’s lovestruck and broken, and then it’s puppy sweet).
I hope that the brief mention of Hardy’s brother, Hudson, and his young secretary (who happens to be his brother-in-law’s younger sister) are teasers for the next book with all these characters.

I really enjoyed this book! I like how Mark Greaney wove all the characters into the plot, bringing back some of Gentry’s past. The action is always good. The premise of the plot is fairly terrifying!
Well done! Looking forward to the next book.

Loved this book!! I enjoyed every minute of this book, even nearly running late for appointments because I couldn’t stop listening. Meghan Quinn’s story is well written, and very funny - I would laugh or say out loud, “Oh, no!” Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon voice Brody and Maggie with humanness and emotions that helped drive the narrative forward. They are two of the most talented narrators of romance audiobooks.
Another fantastic book book by Meghan Quinn! This book should be on everyone’s beach read this summer, especially since it’s set on an island resort.

The Gray Man does not disappoint! While listening to this book, I would get annoyed when I was forced to stop listening. I would find reasons to keep doing chores and other housework just to continue the story. At first, I was confused about the switch to a first person point of view for the Gray Man or, but it was refreshing to have more insight into his psyche.
