Story
Isabel Gibson has all but perfected the art of forgetting. She’s a New Yorker now, with nothing left to tie her to Brinkley’s Island, Maine. Her parents are gone, the family bookstore is all but bankrupt, and her sister, Sophie, will probably never speak to her again. But when a mysterious letter arrives in her mailbox, Isabel feels herself drawn to the past. After years of fighting for her independence, she dreads the thought of going back to the island.

Emotional but beautiful
Reviewed: 08-29-24
A short but very beautiful emotional read! This book is what I would call an intro into Isabel and Sophie’s lives! Two sisters who have faced tragedy and dealt with it on their own way!
Now brought back together after years of no contact they have some healing to do in more ways than one!
I listened to the audio and the narrator did a beautiful job!

I don’t hate Preston Roberts, but I also don’t see what all of the craze is about with the women in Whiskey Creek practically drooling over him. Is he good-looking? Sure. Does he treat others with kindness? I guess so. But none of that matters because he is exactly the kind of guy I need to avoid.

I have been dying to read Ramona’s story. When she leaves her BF in book 1 I was devastated for her but fate showed her that in the end she was better off. Preston is the perfect person to fit into Ramona’s world! They were not love at first sight but over time Ramona realizes that there is more to the sexy Preston and they have more in common than either realized!
The narrator did an amazing job voicing the many characters. I have a hard time with audio books when the woman tries to hard to sound manly but this narrator did such a good job and made the book enjoyable!

This by far is my favorite of the entire series! Favorite story, favorite narrator, just overall a top fave!
The story line is so cute and the fact that it mirrors Roman Holiday in some ways just had my heart because Audrey Hepburn is my all time fave actress! The narrator is the best I have ever heard. She did character switches flawlessly and I was not confused at all. Also factor in that she had to do accents and omg I loved her.

Love and Luck
Reviewed: 07-14-24
Love and Luck are two things that neither our hero nor heroine have ever had. One crazy wedding weekend though and the tables are turning but are they ready for the possibility of more?
The story itself was cute and funny but I did have a hard time following who was talking with the narrator.

This Valentine’s Day, Daisy Murray has her heart set on binge-watching rom-coms. Instead, an earthquake traps her inside a bakery with its impossibly rude and insufferably handsome owner and head baker. They already have a history: she’s always smiled, he’s always scowled. Where better to finally get to know each other than amid the disaster? Then again, they have no choice. Besides, it could have its sweet, undeniable, and unpredictable perks.

Daisy in a moment of weakness decided to go to her favorite bakery one last time! Even though she loves the yummy pastries the baker himself is a grumpy jerk who only grunts in reply and Daisy knows he doesn’t like her, but one shake up and these two find themselves spending some alone time and soon discover hate wasn’t the feeling he felt!
A short and steamy romance with some hilarious as well as heartfelt moments.
The narrator did pretty good with the male voice but there were times where I wasn’t sure if what was being said was an internal thought or said out loud!

Rosie and her dreamboat have the most unusual meet cute but it was one that really worked out well for them! Picture Love is Blind meets Survivor and you get this hilarious and sweet romance!
I love how easily these two fell into conversation and how well they just fit!
The narrator did a good job I will say at the start it was a little difficult to pick Rosie apart from her sister but as the audio went on I was able to better tell them apart!

Gut wrenching but beautiful

This story hit me in all the feels! The pain and anguish that both Gus and Scout were navigating was deep and seeing them help the other heal was just absolutely stunning.
Their journey started out rocky. Gus was not the best version of himself but when Scout came into his life everything changed. Their friendship was slow going but built the foundation they both craved.
I cried so many times but this story also healed something within me that I can’t explain. Anyone who reads a Kim Holden book comes out with a fresh take on life.
The audio of this book was enjoyable and I’m happy I experienced the story this way but the male narrator’s female voice was not stellar. I was able to get through it but it was not my fave.

Miles Sexton was the kind of guy I avoided at all costs. The man’s confidence and good looks screamed heartbreaker, and I’d had enough of that for a lifetime. But it wasn’t easy to avoid someone when they parked their food truck right outside the upscale restaurant you worked at as the executive chef. Or when they constantly came in, asking to borrow ingredients because they failed to be prepared.

I love how sweet and attentive miles was. No over the top drama. He was a man who knew what he wanted and wasn’t going to settle for less.

I believe that everyone is destined to find their one true love, their happily ever after. That’s why I run a relationship advice column to help those who need a little guidance. Granted, I’m by no means an expert, but it is my favorite subject, and I’ve spent plenty of years studying it as I’ve watched others fall in love.

Maggie and Owen were so cute! I loved this story and how easily it flowed. I was not 100% with the narrator but I am happy that I got to listen to this story and appreciate it.
Maggie and Owens story was about the start of something new. It was their story about the journey to giving something new a try. Though the steam was light I still really enjoyed their story. I cannot wait to read the other books in this series!
