Story
In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history. Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.

Strong and resilient
Reviewed: 10-02-24
There wasn’t anything that I didn’t like about this book. My knowledge of Britney came from various sites. And clearly I did not know much because I did not know the extent of her and Justin’s relationship. Her life? All I can do is shake my head. I am all about forgiveness and while I hope she forgives those who hurt her, I hope she never speaks to those people again. In particular her parents. My heart goes out to her. I wish her nothing but peace and happiness.

I thought I knew about Eve but based upon this audiobook I did not. I honestly could not put it down. I started it on my 30 minute ride to my hotel. Picked it back up the next morning and was done. The story of her life is just simply amazing. I loved everything about it.

Story
Mitza Maric has always been a little different from other girls. Most 20-year-olds are wives by now, not studying physics at an elite Zurich university with only male students trying to outdo her clever calculations. But Mitza is smart enough to know that, for her, math is an easier path than marriage. And then fellow student Albert Einstein takes an interest in her, and the world turns sideways. Theirs becomes a partnership of the mind and of the heart, but there might not be room for more than one genius in a marriage.

A shining light and then a shadow
Reviewed: 05-27-24
I love period pieces and this was a good read/listen. I spoke to a colleague about this book and he mentioned that Albert Einstein was known for his ways. Which I was not aware of. I just knew he was a scientist. I will say that I could not stop thinking of the saying “Behind every man is a great woman.” This woman (in my opinion) made him. She was the light of his life and then his ego got the best of him and she was in his shadow. But she got her light back in the end.

I absolutely LOVED it! The book kept me engaged. Kept me giggling and laughing. I had ZERO preconceived notions and was not sure what the ending could be but am thoroughly pleased the way it ended. Also I thought the singing was a great complement to the story. The author even tells you why you should pay attention to the songs. All around awesome to me.

Exactly what I needed
Reviewed: 02-06-23
My therapist and I have been working through a book called Boundaries. A FB friend recommended this book and so I decided to listen. I’ve not finished the Boundaries book but can say that this book seemed to give me the “extra” that I needed to round out the other book, I took copious notes throughout this and also shared with my therapist as this might be something she can share with other clients dealing with issues with boundaries. Again this was perfect. It helped me a lot.
