Story
Before Owen Michaels disappears, he smuggles a note to his beloved wife of one year: Protect her. Despite her confusion and fear, Hannah Hall knows exactly to whom the note refers—Owen’s sixteen-year-old daughter, Bailey. Bailey, who lost her mother tragically as a child. Bailey, who wants absolutely nothing to do with her new stepmother. As Hannah’s increasingly desperate calls to Owen go unanswered, as the FBI arrests Owen’s boss, as a US marshal and federal agents arrive at her Sausalito home unannounced, Hannah quickly realizes her husband isn’t who he said he was.

On the Fence
Reviewed: 05-04-23
I was on the fence about this one and had it in my wish list for a while. A friend read it and shared that I would enjoy it. I did. I would recommend this one to anyone who is on the fence about it. It's good!

Story
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

This was a book club book and I was just not impressed with it. There was so much going on and sometimes hard to follow. I would not recommend it.

This is the best listen I have had in a long time. The narration is amazing and the story is just too sweet. I am glad this came across my suggestions.

Philippa Gregory's first story in the best-selling Wideacre trilogy. A compelling tale of passion and intrigue set in the 18th century. From the author of The Other Boleyn Girl and The Virgin's Lover. Wideacre Hall, set in the heart of the English countryside, is the ancestral home that Beatrice Lacey loves. But as a woman of the 18th century, she has no right of inheritance. Corrupted by a world that mistreats women, she sets out to corrupt others.

One of the Best Books EVER
Reviewed: 09-27-22
As a farmers daughter, and loving the land, some would call it having an obsession with it. The passion the main character feels for the land and hearing it's "heart beat" just speaks to my soul. Trust me when I say, those feelings are real. I know you say that Beatrice is not real BUT I see so many qualities and traits of her in myself that it gave me goosebumps. This book is one of my favorites of all time.

One of the Best of 2022

It has been longer than I care to say since I have read a Nicholas Sparks Novel but I am so glad I took a chance on this one. It kept my attention and I love the way he took this near the end. I did not see it going like it did. Thank you! One of my favorites of 2022!

I really wanted to love this book and I do not normally write reviews but I feel that Audible needs to start putting trigger warnings on their books. Suicide comes up a couple of times and I really wish I had been warned. Will certainly be returning.

The best part of this book was the ending. Too many characters to try to keep up with. I do not see what all the hype was about with this book.
