Story
Kobolds cower at the bottom of the food chain, forced to eke out a meager existence in the most wretched of caves. Most have made peace with their lot in life; one of eating scraps and carrion. They hide and run from predators, delaying the inevitable day when they aren't fast or sneaky enough to make their escape. But not Samazzar. Sam is different from other Kobold pups.

An Underdog (UnderKobold?) Story
Reviewed: 02-07-23
What would life be like if you were the bottom of the food chain of the fantasy world? How would you perceive life? What would you do to stay alive? This book looks at life through the lens of the lovable, but weak, Kobold. Sam is our main character and he is determined to prove he is more than his stature. That he really is what his bloodline comes from. The narration was fantastic, but the book suffered from pacing issues at times. The book did pick up near the end, but it struggled a little to get there. If you like fantasy with a unique take on characters or you really like Kobolds this is a book for you.

Dawn's Light great read for Superman fans!
Reviewed: 01-03-23
This was a fun take on super heroes. Sol is your typical Superman like character with all the powers and one mysterious weakness. I really enjoyed the way that this book explored the human side of being a super hero. How difficult it can be sometimes for someone with super strength for example to adjust living among people that don't. Mundane things such as opening doors, shaking hands, can end up with people hurt.
The book can be a bit graphic at times in it's violence so be aware of that. Overall enjoyable foray into the super hero genre.

I enjoyed this story. The performance by Michael Kramer was as always top notch. The story told from the point of view of an Orc was a fun change and I found myself really connecting to the characters. It really feels like this could have taken place in Azeroth and I really liked that as Warcraft has some of my favorite lore. Highly recommend this to fans of LitRPGs or fans of Warcraft.

Mix of Final Fantasy and Zelda Breath of the Wild
Reviewed: 06-16-22
I loved this book. It's world building is amazing and I usually do not enjoy desert settings. It felt like something set in a Final Fantasy game for most of the book and then it suddenly switched to a feeling like Zelda Breath of the Wild. The story is highly entertaining and was one I couldn't stop listening to. Angel is an excellent protagonist and following him on this adventure was well worth the listen. Highly recommended!

I enjoyed this book. The focus on the family was a new take and I found myself wanting to learn more and more about the Nelson's. The book flowed well and I enjoyed the world building and magic system. Character sheets being used but not being in a game was awesome. If you enjoy LitRPGs than this is a good one too check out, especially with the focus on a whole family rather than a single character.

We get to see Micah as an adult really coming into his powers. This book was a great next step on Micah's journey and he and his friends are coming into their own. The magic system is great and having the main character be a chronomancer is such a welcome change to the typical wizard/mage. Exciting battles and awesome use of time travel. Highly recommend this series.

Combat, family issues, love, grief, betrayal. This is a fun ride. Excellent narration that really brought the characters to life.

Back in Time...Again
Reviewed: 11-10-21
I love this series! it really does time travel correctly. Back facing a life that he has faced multiple times Micah must once again use what he's learned in his previous loops to try to save his family, friends, and home. The characters are well written and it's interesting to see the changes and similarities in personalities through the different time loops. If you liked the first book this is a no brainer go read it. Highly recommended!

Story
On Karell, you are either blessed by the gods, granted a unique power and the ability to gain experience and levels, or you are forgotten. Micah Silver was a boy picked for greatness. Chosen by the gods to bear a mythic power, he longed to take his place amongst the heroes and legends he grew up reading about. Unfortunately, his primary blessing only allows him to travel into the past by sacrificing his class, wealth, and levels - a psychological burden that Micah is reluctant to shoulder. But, even if Micah is unwilling, fate has a way of forcing you to face your destiny.

Reviewed: 09-19-21
This book was such a fun listen! The world building was awesome and the focus on time magic was a breath of fresh air to the usual spell caster throwing a fireball or ice spear. I was engaged the entire time. The main character Micah has many hard decisions to make and then facing the consequences of his choices was exciting to see. This book is time travel done right and for sure is one I will be listening to again. Highly recommend.

Overall I liked this book. The main character was relatable and you really wanted to root for them and the other tributes. The world is interesting and the more you find out about the tributes and what makes them special is a really cool idea. However the pacing of the book was a struggle for me. Some parts just really dragged on a little too long. Overall I enjoyed it. Narration was well done.
