I just got back into reading in November, and I stumbled into this series. And all I can say is wow I read the first three books and each time I was like “ this is the best book I’ve read!” Brandon does a fantastic job of world building in character building and gave me a reason to care about the characters. it is a hefty book but it’s so worth it! five out of five for me

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

I was recommended this book by a close friend who loves to read. And I was hooked by chapter 2. The story was very well written, and the voice actor was wildly impressive! The range alone this actor had was amazing. If you’re on the fence e about reading it, don’t be. Just read it. It’s so good!

Story
Single mother Kate Reese is on the run. Determined to improve life for her and her son, Christopher, she flees an abusive relationship in the middle of the night with her child. Together, they find themselves drawn to the tight-knit community of Mill Grove, Pennsylvania. It's as far off the beaten track as they can get. Just one highway in, one highway out. At first, it seems like the perfect place to finally settle down. Then Christopher vanishes. For six awful days, no one can find him. Until Christopher emerges from the woods at the edge of town, unharmed but not unchanged.

This book was pretty great! I wanted to explore more books outside the genres I usually read and I was blown away at not just the story but at Christine Lakin’s talent as she read! Holy smokes! Like the ranges of voices she pulled off were truly astounding and it made the story that much more immersive!
