Annoying narrators and blah storyline

first off, the male narrator sounds way too old and pretentious. The female is downright annoying and makes an already whiny female lead grate on the ears. The story is a giant tease of spice, and when it comes, it is barely surface level. The plot is triat but straightforward.

Wow! All of the books in Kill John series have been an enjoyable listen, but this is the best one so far. it is definitely a slow burn, but the emphasis on mental health and found family is riveting. Stella and John's romance almost feels normal despite the rockstar aspect.

Solid story about 2 unlikely friends who fall for each other. I gave it 4 stars because the ending was sweet but weak

Ethan is steadfast and determined. Fiona is slightly misunderstood. Their story is sweet but not spectacular.

Unfortunately, the female narrator made Etan sound like a stoned surfer dude, which was a bit of a turn off. Teddy Hamilton was flawless as always.

Beautiful story between two people who felt an instant connection; Anna's insecurities and their break up did make the story drag a bit in the middle, but I stuck with the and realized the couple needed the time apart to appreciate each other. The epilogue is short, sweet, and goves just enough detail that you know they are headed for a good life.

Narrators do an awesome job, but I agree that they sound too old for the roles. It makes the book sound like it is being told by their older selves to their families, and once I interpreted what I was hearing that way, all was well.

This is a sweet, easy listen. The plot is predictable and the "crisis" is barely a crisis at all. The narrators do a great job

This is a solid story about a man-child hockey player and a tight-laced sport agent, who are both healing from trauma. It takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions and leaves you smiling in the end. open door romance

Solid reverse age gap story. Narration is spot on and easy to enjoy. Max is fun. Sue Ann is serious. They had a good balance

Annoying female MC

Benched is a well-written romantic mystery a with a swriously annoying FMC with body issues and a ton of self doubt. This surprised me because we start the story with her showing up uninvited to the MMC's hispital room. That act of bravery is what sets the the relationship between the MMC and FMC in motion, but it takes being pushed over and over again by the side characters for her to speak up for herself. I actually found myself shouting at my audio book at times because she refused to speak and allowed the miscommunication trope to fester. That said, the mystery is well written and kept me intrigued enough to stay until the end. The steam was fairly light (2 scenes) and didn't last long. The book needs a trigger warning for attempted sexual assault, which happens 2 times and isn't mentioned in the summary of the audio book.

Narration is top notch and flows very well.

This book had a ton of potential. The first twi "dates" had a good build up and set the scene for our couple to gain a deeper level of intimacy. Even the fight with Lance made sense in the storyline. Then chapter 28 got to the inintimacy, and it was poorly written. The terms used were weird and didn't really fit the rest of the story. Then they said "I love you" on day 3, and I got a Frozen flashback with Hans and Anna. lol. Nope. Not believable. The trade crisis wasn't believable either nor was the airport scene. Sad to say the novel fizzled out after that and left me wishing I hadn't wasted my time on it.
