All the Stillhouse Lake series are excellent but this book had me on the edge of my seat.
My only complaint is the book ended too abruptly. We never heard how the kids were, the girls, where is V and how about the Whites? Another chapter , 2 max would have sewn things up .
Regardless of my small criticism the book is absolutely worth the read. I highly recommend both the series and this book. You need to read the series or you won't understand much of the story and characters.
R. Caine is a fantastic aauthor, this series and the Morganville series are both excellent, completely diffetent but both fantastic.
Hope you enjoy as much as I have!!!

the entire series is worth the money/credits. I hope IA continues this series and a new book comes after the next book which is the last one as of now.

Only Edgers like Rose can easily travel from one world to the next, but they never truly belong in either.

imagine a world next to ours that had some magic and another beside that was all magic!
I think it would be amazing.
This book is a wonderful description of these 3 different worlds and how the people from the middle live and get by. The things they need to do to survive esp with no ss# or birth certificate, imagine trying to make a living with no papers. it is definitely a parallel on being an illegal.
I think this world is extraordinary and the way IA writes about it, makes it being real a possibility.
worth the credit or money!

these are the best books ever! EH is by far one of the most amazing story tellers I have had the honor of reading. All of her books have sucked me into her world made me fall in love and even visit a number of cities she brings to her pages. I love the characters and side stories. This book is one of many excellent books in this series, I loved each the 1st time I read them but fell in love with them even more the second when I was able to read one after the other. please keep this series alive. I have so many questions I hope to have answered in future stories of this world, like the story of Gio and Bea adopting thier daughter. of all my books I don't have one that gives the entire story Satia was just there.
The Elemental series and novellas are worth every credit and dollar!
I hope you love them as much as I do! enjoy!

I like how along with strength Ben & Tenzin often show weaker people kindness. E Hunter has developed an amazing world which I love more with every book of the elementals I read.
please continue writing the elemental books and letting us in with each minor character we learn more about making them not so minor any longer. I also love continuing to hear about the various families and friendships we have learned to love from the earliest books in this Series!
thank you for sharing such an amazing imagination with us all.

MAC!! & JETTA
Reviewed: 07-07-24
I really really enjoyed this spinoff as well as the others I have read. This is easily one of my favorite series and I can't wait for the next book, regardless of its a spinoff or another of the main series. I love when they put asshats in thier place in these books. they tolerate all this bs then calmly and together SMACK DOWN the baddies. I like that alternatives to killing are used when it is available and realistic to do so.
The people are diverse, smart and most are very strong, many in different ways which is so cool. strength in these books is not just who can push the hardest,is more about who can out think the others. I love that Mac & Jetta are 2 very strong capable characters but yet they have no specific POWERS to speak of. yes, they have luck but much of it they work hard for. The main characters are not power hungry, don't want to rule everyone or showoff and control others. Those are the kind of people we should all hope ends up welding the most power.
I recommend this series to anyone, young or old, who likes even the most modest supernatural books and about the persecuted becoming very needed and necessary to all.
I do suggest reading in order or you will miss too much of a great story.
Worth the money or credit! ENJOY...

Every ORPHAN X, I have read have been very good but this one went well beyond the others.
This OX, made me laugh out loud a few times and it made me cry also which is a step for this series.
I advise everyone who likes this genre to read this series in order, if you don't know the characters you won't find it as emotional. you can read them stand alone but you will miss a great piece of this series.
I can't wait to read the next book out!!

I am relistening to the entire series, what a huge difference!!! Listening to the series one after the other has made me see and understand characters and facets of the storyline I did not when I listened to each as they came out. you forget pieces of the stories or smaller characters. I had completely forgotten about xenia! She has almost an entire book and I forgot her!
I absolutely recommend listening to the entire series one after the other, what an amazing amazing world! The books are all fantastic on thier own but together they are one of the best series out,
kudos to Nalini Singh!
