Very nice story, interesting characters, and imaginative world building. This first book of the series felt a little short however. As far as narration goes all I can say is that it’s impeccable. Steven Pacey is a master!

I personally preferred the two earlier books of the series. Though, this one differs itself from the earlier two books in many ways, which I found very refreshing. The ‘main’ female protagonist is less relevant and independent from her counterpart in book 1 and 2. Nevertheless I found the story very enjoyable.

If you liked Pillars of the earth you will very probably like this one. There are quite a few similarities between the books but enough differences to make them distinct experiences. Personally I preferred book 1 of the series but nevertheless I still had difficulties to stop binging the entirety of book 2 till the end.

Unlike anything I have ever read/heard. A masterpiece! I have never felt a 40 hour long audiobook finish so fast. The story is amazingly captivating. The narration is just perfect. This is a must-listen regardless of your interests in cathedrals and medieval settings.

The story ends in a very abrupt manner, which I did not like. The plot thickens and intensifies, leading to a crescendo that essentially ends with a cover-book-summary. Up to that point the plot is interesting. Furthermore, the audio quality is sub par as the same audio issues persist from the first part of the book (each sentence has been clipped too soon even removing almost entirely the final word of the sentence at some points). That’s a pity since the narrator does a very descent job.

Really interesting story and a good performance from the narrator. Unfortunately though, the audio quality has been compromised. It is as if the end of each sentence has been abruptly cut. One can still understand the entirety of the sentence but, given that audio is a big part of this medium, the end result leaves a sour aftertaste.

Amazing story. Great narration. This last part of the trilogy takes twists and turns that I definitely did not see coming. What a pleasure has this book been!

Just as the other books from Abercrombies series the writing is spectacular and the audio is unsurpassed. Good job !

The stormlight archive series continues to steadily decline. In my opinion the first one was a masterpiece, the second was very good, the third ok and this one borderline boring at times. The story was not captivating and rather predictable. The narration has not changed so if you liked it for tue previous books you will enjoy this one too.
