This book kept me so entertained I finished it in two days. I love the suspense. I'm a little surprised that it's listed in the "Romance / Audible Escape" catalog because it's more suspense and psychological thriller than romance.

This book did keep me interested but a lot of the chapters/dialogue in the latter part of the book are just repeated conversations over and over and over. Same scenarios, reactions, arguments just repeated way, way too much. This book could have been so much shorter due to that. I was very invested in the characters but the amount of deception and cheating is unreal if that is a trigger for you. It's very hard to sympathize with the main character after you see how selfish and wishy-washy and deceptive she is. And I wanted to like her so bad!! It was a good read though. It's interesting how it ends.

This book was honestly one of the worst books I've purchased on Audible. I literally skipped four chapters just to get it over with quicker and did not feel as if I missed much. It just did not capture my attention. The people in the book act more like they're in high school than college. What college has assigned lunch hours?? It just all seemed a little silly with the details of the bet as the baseline of the story in the beginning. The bet itself was just not well thought out.

I could have skipped this book and been just fine but it was good I guess. It's really repetitious and a boring point of view from Hardin, but none the less, I loved the others, so I had to finish out the series. If you want to play "find the inconsistencies" between details in the first four books and this one, you'll be pleased. Lots of things must have gotten mixed up in the editing process because small details from the other books are not consistent in this book. For one, when Tessa went to her friend's wedding in Chicago, the book prior said she did not ask Hardin to go with her as her date, she wanted to go alone, but that she met up with Hardin afterwards for dinner and sex at her hotel, and because she was only there for one night. This book said Hardin went as her date to her friend's wedding and she stayed with him for 3 days after it. It also says that Smith loves everything about Hardin except his tattoos, and that it's the only thing he argues about with Hardin, earlier in this book. Then later in this book, when they're reading from Smith's point of view, it says he loves Hardin's tattoos and wants to get them himself when he's older. Small details like that matter to true fans. Oh one more, the book prior says his daughter Emory is 6 when Tessa is pregnant with Audin. This book says they are only five years apart. Just saying...the details matter to true fans who have invested many hours listening to these books. I also think the movie was awful after reading these books. They made a "Disney" version of these books for theaters, meaning they toned it down way too much. And wth did they do with Hardin's character in the movie??? He's way too nice in it!!

As a fan of the first book and the movie, I read this one with so much excitement and anticipation only to find it annoying and disappointing. I was a huge fan of Tessa in the first book, but in this one, she's completely aggravating, whining, unrealistic, and a complete flake. I found myself hoping the story line would be more from Hardin's point of view for must of the chapters just to escape how annoying Tessa is in this book. There are inconsistencies in this one too, it's almost like some parts were edited out, although it's supposed to be unabridged. I don't like how this one ends either. It leads to no anticipation to read the next one. I was bored with this one for a lot of chapters and found myself rushing thru just to stop hearing Tessa's constant mental battles with the same internal dialogue, same exact words to herself, chapter after chapter after chapter. I don't know, this one didn't deliver. It was harder to get through. It's literally like she copied and pasted the same arguments, same dialogue, chapter after chapter, The first one was far better. But seriously, the movie was good but after seeing the movie first and then reading the books, the movie was a terrible adaptation.
