Story
The acclaimed biography of the early church's greatest evangelist, the Apostle Paul. Master storyteller John Pollock makes Paul and his amazing story freshly alive, so that you can know the greatest apostle much as Luke and Timothy did as they traveled with him. As you listen, you'll sense Paul's motives, his aims and priorities; what mattered to him; and what he was willing to die for.

Story
Pornography may seem inescapable, but God can free us from its destructive power. The gospel replaces the dehumanizing lies of pornography with this surprising truth: God created us as royalty. How then can we reclaim our God-given identity to take a stand against - and ultimately starve - the predatory porn industry? In The Death of Porn, Ray Ortlund writes six personal letters, as from a father to his son.

Since the time of Voltaire and Rousseau, the secular intellectual has increasingly filled the vacuum left by the decline of the cleric and assumed the functions of moral mentor and critic of mankind. This fascinating portrait of the minds that have shaped the modern world examines the moral credentials of those whose thoughts have influenced humanity.

This book is a slayer of sacred cows. As a history teacher this book was captivating and painted such a picture of these juggernauts of literature and philosophy that they were alive on the page.

There is only one downside, I couldn't take notes and highlight anything. I will be getting the physical copy now and reread. This is one of the clearest and best written books I've read. All opinion is backed up with the bible itself.

Spurgeon's best known work comes alive through nuanced and meaningful narration, almost as if Spurgeon himself was encouraging us in matters faith, love and devotion to God.
