Story
I knew fixing up my life with a fresh start on the hobby ranch I inherited in Hell’s Bells, Wyoming, would come with challenges. Things like snow. Wildlife. Local gossip about why my daughter and I are here. But the biggest challenge? My surly new tenant. He’s like a bear. Fascinating from a distance, but don’t get too close, or he’ll bite. His personality should be a good thing. I have no need of a new man in my life. But he’s not only my tenant; he’s also my daughter’s math teacher and soccer coach.

so much Pippa to love
Reviewed: 05-27-24
I loved the humorous inner monologues, the heart wrenching emotional struggles, the town cast and the character growth. Pippa is the master of making my chuckle even though I still have tears in my eyes

Story
The Earl of St. Merryn needs a woman. His intentions are purely practical - he simply wants someone sensible and suitably lovely to pose as his betrothed for a few weeks among polite society. He has his own agenda to pursue, and a false fiancée will keep the husband-hunters at bay while he goes about his business. The simplest solution is to hire a paid companion. Finding the right candidate proves more of a challenge than he expected.

I love Amanda Quick's heroines.

The heroine I'd smart, independent, sassy and empathetic. The hero is smart enough to recognize these qualities and they partner so well together as they delve into solving his mystery.
And Bianca Amato is such a beautifully emotive reader with a beautiful voice. This audio version was so pleasurable.

Another great book by Jayne Ann Krentz. She provides a delicious blend of mystery, romance and human behavior with a string nod to intuition.
