Nicholas Ralph’s narration is grand...A talented mimic, the star of the newer production can hold the stage alone, taking both voices in an argument. Ralph expresses adoration of domesticated animals and the wild Scots who own them. Ralph channels the Herriot magic, wrapping these tough eccentrics in a light that cheers and ennobles us all. wonderful!
What a rare gem! the story is charming and really brings back alive the period of the story. It's witty and warm and the characters, be it humans or animals, spring forth and become your friends. wonderful story indeed and the reading was beautifully well done! Truly recommend this one :)

Great book - lovely performance!
I love this book. But to listen to it read by the actor of the new series made it even better. Warm, charming and entertaining. I deeply recommend.
