It's too bad that those who need to read this book won't. Murray makes the hard case that our Western culture and its values are worth keeping and fighting for. Anyone who has traveled surely knows this to be true.

Murray continues to make the case on behalf of us all. And excellent narrartion as always.

Pompeo is a tanker in training and perspective. This way of thinking -- hard charging and straight ahead -- comes across loud and clear. He has contributed much to our country for I am certainly appreciative.

And his job at narrating the book is terrific.

It's hard to understand it unless you go there to see it for yourself. To survive it and tell the tale is a blessing.

Although not on par with Douglas Murray, Kisin does make many valid arguments on why we should value our Western Culture!

Sometimes an author can over wordsmith his book and in doing so violate many of the writing rules set by Geroge Orwell, namely keep it simple and don't use big words when small words will do.

The exaggerated writing (and of events) was made worse by the overly dramatic narration. I got through 1/2 of it before finally giving up. A smarter person would have given up earlier...

A few days ago I walked the battlefield where Audie Murphy earned his MOH. The edge of the forest still remains near Colma, France. The French have erected a small monument to his deeds there. This area of France is peppered with WWII (and WWI) traces of war.

The book reads like a well-written script of his times, complete with different characters and their accents. The narration is perfect. It is written in a matter-of-fact way devoid of gut-wrenching introspection as was the norm of the Greatest Generation. Soldiers came and went. Life and death were everyday occurrences. Move on to the next battle.

There is no self-glory storytelling here. Audie Murphy was worthy of all he was recognized for...the greatest soldier in American history. I am humbled to have stood where he stood.

Yovanovitch's career experiences are well worth reading. The trials and tribulations of an FSO (Foreign Service Officer) give much weight to how the American juggernaut handles diplomacy worldwide. One can argue that this 'liberal hegemony' approach to solving (or imposing solutions) all the world's problems does not entirely suit the national interests of the US as Yovanovitch makes out. Still, she makes the argument that standing for American values is in our interests, ultimately.

Nevertheless, it's a difficult path to walk between realpolitik and ideology.

I believe EMF/RF will become tomorrow's asbestos, lead poisoning, cigarette smoking, and Ford Pinto. We're always catching up to our past. We need to be educated, not scared. This short book does both. The author has earned it.

Free for me, not for thee. That's the message. The author's conviction in his own truthiness is at the expense (if he had his way) of those (far-right wing lunatics) he'd gladly censor for the benefit of society, as he sees it.

The best point made was that the US does a very poor job defending itself and that the govt is terrible at public relations.
