Historia
"This is a very difficult letter to write. I hope you will not hate us too much.... My son broke into your home recently while you were out." In a quiet, leafy suburb in upstate New York, a teenager has been sneaking into houses - and into the owners' computers as well - learning their secrets, and maybe sharing some of them, too. Who is he, and what might he have uncovered? After two anonymous letters are received, whispers start to circulate, and suspicion mounts. And when a woman down the street is found murdered, the tension reaches the breaking point.

Historia
Tess Strebel can’t recognize her own face. She can’t recognize her home. Her bedroom is unfamiliar. And she can’t remember the handsome stranger lying next to her in bed. A stranger who claims he’s her husband. Tess reads a letter in her own handwriting, composed during a rare lucid day, explaining her life as it now exists: she was in a terrible car accident one year ago. Every morning, she wakes up unable to remember most of the last decade. Including her own wedding.

Repetitive

I have loved every book she has written until i got to this one. It was so annoying, repetitive and not a very strong story.

Hey you guys, it’s Leslie. I’m excited to share my story with you. Now, I’m gonna be honest: Some of the details might be vague because a b*tch is fifty-five and she’s smoked a ton of weed. But while bits might be a touch hazy, I can promise you the underlying truth is REAL.

Enjoyed the way she read the book. It felt like we were sitting and chatting. Love Leslie even more. Great moments in the book, sad and real laugh out loud moments.

Sam and Sadie—two college friends, often in love, but never lovers—become creative partners in a dazzling and intricately imagined world of video game design, where success brings them fame, joy, tragedy, duplicity, and, ultimately, a kind of immortality. It is a love story, but not one you have heard before.

It was okay for me
Revisado: 07-06-23
I was compelled to listen and read this story because of all the wonderful reviews. Honestly, it was just okay for me. I did enjoy the development of the characters but the story was so dragged out. There were many times I juSt wanted to stop but I felt I need to do finish so I could have an honest opinion. I really enjoyed the performance of the narrator. Overall it was just okay for me.

Historia
Universally acclaimed as a musical genius, Miles Davis was one of the most important and influential musicians in the world. Here, Miles speaks out about his extraordinary life. Miles: The Autobiography, like Miles himself, holds nothing back. For the first time Miles talks about his five-year silence. He speaks frankly and openly about his drug problem and how he overcame it. He condemns the racism he encountered in the music business and in American society generally. And he discusses the women in his life.

Just as I Am is my truth. It is me, plain and unvarnished, with the glitter and garland set aside. Here, I am indeed Cicely, the actress who has been blessed to grace the stage and screen for six decades. Yet I am also the church girl who once rarely spoke a word. I am the teenager who sought solace in the verses of the old hymn for which this book is named. I am a daughter and mother, a sister, and a friend. I am an observer of human nature and the dreamer of audacious dreams.

I loved the voice of the narrator. As the story unfolds it gives history in conjunction with Ms. Tyson’s life experiences. Well thought out and flows beautifully. You will be touched by her sharing and feel empowered to do more than you currently are. Inspired to leave a mark on this world with God’s grace & mercy. Don’t let this pass you by, it is a MUST READ. Enjoy!

Historia
In my book, you will meet a little girl named Viola who ran from her past until she made a life-changing decision to stop running forever. This is my story, from a crumbling apartment in Central Falls, Rhode Island, to the stage in New York City, and beyond. This is the path I took to finding my purpose but also my voice in a world that didn’t always see me.

Nicely written, beautifully told. Viola bares it all from the ugliest moments in her life to the most beautiful. She is honest, raw and transparent. Whether you can relate to her experience or not you will walk away from this story with a renewed outlook on life.
I'm grateful she took the time and effort to pull this valuable memoir together. Listening to her words has given me a deeper appreciation for Ms. Viola Davis. Read it!

Revisado: 06-13-22
I love the story. I love Graham and Quinn’s love for each other. It's a beautiful love story but the narrator was horrible! It's not her best story but a feel good story if you can manage to make it until the end.

Beautifully Told
Revisado: 05-25-22
While the topic is sad- the story is historical, fiction. The narrator’s voice is appropriately, soothing and narrates so beautifully I enjoyed each character and the flow of the story. The shifting of time periods was nicely done and not confusing.
I’m going to read the book as well. Kudos to Ms. Perkins-Valdez and Ms. Daggett.

Historia
Raised in sleepy English suburbia, Georgina Lawton was no stranger to homogeneity. Her parents were White; her friends were White; there was no reason for her to think she was any different. But over time her brown skin and dark, kinky hair frequently made her a target of prejudice. In Georgina’s insistently color-blind household, with no acknowledgement of her difference or access to Black culture, she lacked the coordinates to make sense of who she was.

was expecting a different story
Revisado: 04-12-22
I found the story to be interesting and well written. I was expecting more from the story. I thought she would go more in depth about her experiences and more of her relationship with her family.
Overall it’s a good story and different perspective on race. Worth reading.
