This novel’s attempt to experiment with form while documenting in a fictional manner the lives of women in the botany world spanning different centuries was refreshing to read. I appreciated the form of the novel, the author’s use of her research in The Bronx at the NYBG, and the way the narrative crystallized the possibilities of change in self and in our natural environment.

Roya Marsh sits a reader down on the front stoop & outlines the ways humanity can glisten & create rays of sunshine through the use of voice. This book deserves to receive all the prizes & accolades the publishing industry can present it. Stunningly honest, lyrical & fulfilling.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. She uses a clear and honest narrative to unpack the complexities of being Latinx in the US.

this novel is a lyrical essay, a poem, a piece of a heart placed onto a reader’s palm ... each page a palpitation... thank you for writing it.

Professor Cooper’s book created language for us to identify the intersections in today’s society and to cross those streets or know how to drive in our lanes. Necessary and empowering literary experience. Thank you for giving voice to your experiences and our world.
