Historia
Following the events of Kristallnacht in 1938, Peter Fleischmann evaded the Gestapo’s roundups in Berlin by way of a perilous journey to England on a Kindertransport rescue, an effort sanctioned by the UK government to evacuate minors from Nazi-controlled areas. But he could not escape the British police, who came for him in the early hours and shipped him off to Hutchinson Camp on the Isle of Man, under suspicion of being a spy for the very regime he had fled.

"The Island of Extraordinary Captives," is one of the most interesting books I've listened to in a while. I found it informative and I was saddened by the fact that Great Britain interned so many people during WW Ii. I highly recommend this book if you are a WWII history buff.

The "Framed" presented 10 well written synopsis of men that were wrongfully convicted. It is acarry to think of such corrupt police departments and prosocuters in this day and age. I give cudos to the innocence project and all the men and women who donate their time to help get wrongfully convicted people out of jail.

intriguing and Informative
Revisado: 10-06-24
I really enjoyed "The German Wife". I was able to learn from this historical fiction. Kelly did a good job intertwining the facts with a fictional story. Some of the information she talked about I knew. While other (like the fact that the US wippid clean SS mens records) I didn't knew. The narrator did a great job. well worth a listen.

Fantastic - Rivieing
Revisado: 08-11-24
Once again Kate Quinn has hit a homerun. "The Briar Club" is excellent. The characters are well developed as one would expect in a Quinn novel The plot line is exciting and riveting. As the book develops you are immersed in the life of a boarding house and how people lived in the 50's. and how a group of unrelated people become a family. The reader is exposed to McCarthyism and racism and the effects on the boarders. As the plot of the book unwinds the reader gets to guess who the good guys are and what roll he/she has had in the story. For a book that starts out as a who-done-it, the story development is great. Saskia Maarleveld is a wonderful narrator and once again she does justice to Kate's book. If you like historical fiction I would highly recommend "The Briar Club". Even if you are not into historical fiction this would be an enjoyable book. This is definitely a can't put down book

"The Porcelain Moon" is a very well written.book. It thoroughly kept my interest. The characters are well developed. The story is about a time I knew nothing about so the story and eoilogue were educational. As narrators go, these narrators are great. Don't pass this one up.

Shocking Ending

I rea)y enjoyed listening to "Chapter One". The story really kept my interest. The characters were well developed and the story line was great. The ending however was a reL surprise. Usually I have an idea of who the murderer is. In this case I would never have guessed the murderer. The narrators did a great job. I highly recommend this book.

Not a Typical Michael Connelly Book
Revisado: 07-18-24
"The Safe Man" was an interesting book, although not a typical Michael Connelly Book. I did enjoy it, however, it was an unusual mystery that had elements of ghosts and the underworld. I do recommend it if you like that type of story.
