The books in this series I'm relatively short but so much happens and the characters are pretty well developed. There are sound effects which has scared me a couple of times because I've been listening kn my headphones or in the car and suddenly wonder what that sound is. This book ends in a cliffhanger.

Short and Sweet

The FMC makes a bet to with coworkers to set up her boss. She plots to set up her boss with her brother. The two actually hit it off on their own with a little clumsy nudge. The rest is romance HEA. This novella length book was shoshort but still able to pain the characters with alot of depth.

A Yooper Mystery

Janice (rhymes with Denise) is a small town Yooper (upper Michigander)who gets caught up in a mystery while just trying to navigate life among the quirky characters of her town including her roommate/boyfriend and a meddling mother. The characters were painted with humor and the mystery keeps deepening the more she tries to escape its clutches. This book is a clean, cozy murder mystery with a bit of a romance and a definite happy ending.

Hilarious Action

The two MCs are hired to do a simple job of delivering a man, claimed to be a werewolf, in a cage. Everything that can go wrong goes wrong. The werewolf is real, psychotic, and plays with them and innocent bystanders in ways that are bloody and completely unexpected. This book is not for the faint of heart and as much as it's filled with gore, I can't help but root for the MCs as well as laugh while they get led on a mmerry chase.

More than just Romance

This book is romance, action, and fantasy thrown in. This is a clean Christian romance, but light on the religion. 80% of the book is the set up for the last 20%. I'm frustrated at how quickly and cleanly the book wwraps up. the characters use their "gifts" to easeasily and yet not in the same manner as the previous book. I honestly, won't be continuing the series.

Each story in this 10 box set is unique but similar and about the same DDLG trope. The couples have instalove and the stories are short enough to be satisfying without getting too much into the trope details.

Too easy

The characters had challenges, but everything just worked out too easy for them. The MMC is "gifted" and can build anything magically. the FMC is a black widow of sorts having been widowed on her wedding night 6 times. People whisper about her reputation but no one has asked about her motive. only in the last hour of the book do they face any real chalkenges.

Great for Basics

This book is great for the the basics and introduction to Reiki. Reiki, however needs to be taught in person or at least with a physical book because there are certain symbols that are used that one needs to see an learn. It's also best to be in person so you can practice with a live person who can give you feedback on your touch (not necessarily that they "feel" anything, but perhaps if you are being awkward about where your hands are). This book was very helpful for me to review what I learned in my in-person classes.

Masterfully Written

This book was wonderfully executed. I liked that the author has no military or tech background so all of those elements were included but not overdone to flaunt the author's expertise in those subjects unlike other books I have read. The story contains a lot of action and intrigue. I liked all the different aspects of the story as it unfolded. The narrator was perfect for voicing the MC and the rest of the story.

This book ends with a cliffhanger of sorts. It's reminiscent of a short story. The end is not a leave you angry cliffhanger but a leave it up to the imagination of the reader ending, like a movie where they walk off but there's still so much more story to be had. I was left with so many unanswered questions, but in such a way that I'm OK not knowing and filling in the pieces on my own. in that sense, this book was masterfully written. The story is both about the FMC and MMC finding love in the best way that they each can give while trying to figure out the new world they find themselves in. If there's a book 2, I would definitely pick it up but I'm also satisfied filling in the blanks on my own. It's a rare book that can leave me feeling that way. The narrator did a great job.
