Historia
Wielding a Red Sword depicts a mere mortal who is called to serve as a god-like incarnation. It is the thrilling story of Mym, an Indian prince who takes up the Red Sword to become Mars, the Incarnation of War. To avoid breaking his betrothal to the princess Rapture and the war that would surely result, Mym accepts the fearsome office. As Mars, he plans to keep Rapture by his side as he stops the suffering caused by Earth's incessant wars.

Not Enough
Revisado: 09-07-23
The largest problem I have is endemic of Piers Anthony's style, which is terminally sexual. It seems no female character exists in a non sexual manner in the story and the main character has some extreme misogynistic beliefs. While having such characters can be enlightening, I shudder to think of how many young children emulated his beliefs. The narrator's performance was not at all bad but Anthony's writing style feels condescending.
The world is intriguing and can be thoroughly explored, but it's not enough to get me to continue reading the series.

Historia
When the perfidious t’au bring down a valkyrie containing an Astra Militarum general on the besieged Imperial world of Dasht i-Kevar, all could be lost—what the general knows could break the war effort, and see the planet fall under the control of the vile xenos. Only the Kasrkin stand a chance at bringing him back. They are the elite of the elite, but the enemy that Captain Bharath Obeysekera and his squad are called upon to fight is unlike any they have faced before—the desert itself, endless and implacable

Boring
Revisado: 06-08-23
A decent narrator cannot carry a boring and inconsistent story. Hardly any action, too many monologues, no xenos until the second half and they're not even tau

Hot and Cold

The book is well written, but Grimaldus can be a moody bastard. I wish more was given to the book as it was in the last few chapters

Historia
The Hellknights are a brutal organization of warriors dedicated to maintaining law and order at any cost. For devil-blooded Jheraal, even the harshest methods are justified if it means building a better world for her daughter. Yet when a serial killer starts targeting hellspawn like Jheraal and her child, Jheraal has no choice but to use all her cunning and ruthlessness in order to defeat an ancient enemy to whom even death is no deterrent.

Strong start and end, ok narrator
Revisado: 11-27-22
The beginning hook is great, end good, but the narrator does not voice action well

Once heir to the throne of a dynasty, he now commands nothing but a dwindling garrison of warriors, in a never-ending struggle against Ork invaders. Oltyx can think of nothing but the prospect of vengeance against his betrayers, and the reclamation of his birthright. But the Orks are merely the harbingers of a truly unstoppable force. Unless Oltyx acts to save his dynasty, revenge will win him only ashes.

A rather mediocre successor
Revisado: 11-25-21
The spiritual successor to the first book, the writing failed to capture my attention like the first but I pressed on nonetheless. Reached the 3 hours left and just couldn't finish it. Disappointed seeing as how I rated the last book 5 stars

Under almost constant besiegement by the hosts pouring from the Eye of Terror, Cadia acts as a bulwark against tyranny and death. Its fortresses and armies have held back the hordes of Chaos for centuries, but that grim defiance is about to reach its end.
