Historia
Captain Axel Finn has spent his life running salvage missions with an alien crew and their war bot. This motley group has found refuge on his ship from their own tumultuous pasts. But little do any of them know, beneath his gentle demeanor, their steadfast captain is far from the peace following, adventure seeking giant of a man they all love. Vivid world building.
Revisado: 05-16-24
I loved this book so much!! If you want to be taken on a thrilling journey through the cosmos then this book is for you. This book has it all, intense action, intricate world-building and entertaining and captivating characters, Axel and his crew of misfits and Jax and her crew are my favourites.
The pacing is relentless, propelling the story forward with each turn of the page. From heart-stopping space battles to tense encounters with alien foes, the story is packed with adrenaline-fueled excitement that kept me on the edge of my seat.
One of the highlights of the story is its richly imagined universe. Smith has crafted a sprawling galactic landscape filled with diverse planets, alien species, and ancient mysteries waiting to be uncovered.
Nicholas Sansbury Smith has once again proven himself to be a master storyteller and I cannot wait for book 2!!
I rather liked the dual narration! Both narrators deliver stellar performances and their varied and wide ranged voices create a simply amazing auditory experience.

Brilliant, for the most part!
Revisado: 02-03-23
So, I loved this book. It had everything, tense, thrilling, gore! Then we got near the end and it went way off what I was hoping. The ending was a let down for me. It just didn't make sense and I felt like it was a total other story.
Joe Hempel was as brilliant as always. He always knows how to tell a story.

Not my favourite by this author.
Revisado: 07-03-22
I've listened to a lot of books by this author and I have to say that this wasn't for me. The story was good overall but it took far too long to get going, by the time it started getting good, I didn't much care what happened to the characters. I may try listening to it some other time again to see if it's just the mood I'm in at the moment because every other book I've listened to by Robinson I've loved.
Jeffrey Kafer was as good as always. He has an impressive array of voices and always reads a story well.

Historia
Reverend Blake Hardesty has lived the life of Job. Yet he continues to preach faith in God to a dwindling congregation, sharing his life with his teenage daughter, Bethany, who seems to blame him for her mother’s death. If it weren’t for the angel who protects him from the beast who fills his dreams, he would be completely alone. But when trying to help a disturbed congregant makes him the victim of a vicious attack, he realizes that the angel may not be able to protect him any longer from the beast - the wolf - that is now growing inside him.

Revisado: 06-26-22
I had high hopes for this book because it sounded like my kind of read, but I have to say that for the most part, I found it quite boring. My attention kept wandering throughout and when I came back to the story I kept having to rewind to see if I missed something. I knew at that stage that it was time for me to stop listening. I will say that overall it's not a bad story, it's just very slow to start and I like my werewolf books to be action packed!
Narration wise, the narrator was ok. He read it well, as in nice pace and well enunciated, but he didn't have a wide variety of voices for the characters.

Exciting!
Revisado: 07-10-21
I've been fascinated with A.I for a long time, so when I saw that one of my favourite authors was writing about them, I knew I'd read it, and I must say that it was as amazing as I hoped.
E-Day is set in the not too distant future, in a world ravaged by war. Humanity was almost eradicated but thanks to some who developed the A.I and droids, they are starting to rebuild things. There are 2 main groups, one who think A.I will be the salvation of everyone and one who thinks the opposite. One thing I have to say about this author is that his world building and character development are phenomenal.
There are quite a few characters and while it did take me a little to remember everyone, once I did the story flowed smoothly. I think what I loved about this book was the many diverse characters. I loved Akira Hayashi and the Japanese references and beliefs that were there. It was fascinating. I also loved all of Shadow Squad, the dog and the Horse especially. This author always has some form of animal companion in his books and it's wonderful.
The plot was intense and non stop right from the start. I was fascinated with Apeiron and the Engines. The whole concept of humans blending with machines is both terrifying and amazing. There is plenty of action, fights, suspense, thrills and more so I highly recommend you check it out. I am eagerly awaiting book 2 to see what happens!!!
R.C Bray is as good as always. He delivers a top notch performance.

Brilliant.
Revisado: 02-22-21
In the aftermath of the civil war, life is tough for all....well except those that embrace the evil! The Moretti family is trying to become the top mob family in the city but there is fierce competition and with his resources dwindling, Don Antonio Moretti has to use anything and everything to get there.
Meanwhile the Salvatore family is put through the test when something happens to one of them. While they struggle to survive a world filled with corrupt cops, drug riddled refugee camps and streets, violence at every turn and mobs who think they are invincible, the mob families and the crime lords are living it up.
Book 1 saw the world everyone knew crumble and book 2 now deals with the aftermath of it. Cities are in ruins and millions are dead. Lawlessness has become a way of life for many. But there are still many that believe in what's right and Ronald Salvatore and his crew is one. His son Dominic and Doms friend Moose are others.
The first book set the scene and this one gets down and dirty. The dust has settled as such and the criminals have a strong grip on the city. We see a plot filled with action, excitement, intrigue, good vs evil and evil vs evil! The action never lets up, not for a second. At times it's heart breaking but mostly it's nerve wracking!!!
In all a brilliant follow up to the first and I'm extremely excited to see what happens in book 3!!!
Ray Porter is amazing. He doesn't just read a story, he performs it! The incredible array of tones and voices made this book so much bette!!
