Patterson brings to life a story of unrequited love between a Palestinian woman charged with murder of the visiting Israeli Prime Minister who came to San Francisco to share his peace plan, and her Jewish-American lawyer who was her college lover 13 years earlier. What plays out is geopolitical with a backdrop of the Arab/Israeli conflict and why Israel is so important to the Jewish people to return to their homeland, and the Arabs feeling erased by Israeli policies brought on by Hamas extremist suicide bombers.

Murray made some very good arguments some I agree with, and some I don't. But, it's always good to have another perspective.

I couldn't put it down. It was an emotional roller coaster. Sit back and enjoy the ride. Great ending.

The time travel genre is one of my favorites. I liked premise of story. I don't know if what bothered me was narration or writing...or both. All areas of narration, the narrator's voice was grating. She read very choppy...She stopped too long at every period...And, this made reading very staccato. This could also be writing as author might work on varying her sentence lengths. HOWEVER, narrator was much better with flow when reading dialog and when in character, her voice wasn't as grating.
The story had True worried about revealing her time travel lest she be burned at the stake...very real possibility as James Stuart was big into burning witches in the 15th century. She was a student of the Renaissance since she worked the faires and knew something about the time period, if not the place. She understood immediately what had befallen her when she saw the highlanders, yet she persisted in 21st century slang. I found this unbelievable as she would have tried to fit in, and have an occasional lapse in speech when in fits of anger. Overall a nice story, even if a bit sophomoric.

Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, wrote his truth. Who better to tell your story than yourself. Prince Harry takes the narrative from those who wish him and his beautiful wife harm, and poignantly tells his tale. For naysayers, why should the awful tabloids be allowed to get rich off Prince Harry with lies, innuendos, and the constant harassment for photos? And, he not allowed to make a dime off his own story. The "firm" silenced, and hung Harry and Meghan out to dry, too bad if they don't like negative exposure, but Harry really didn't say anything bad. Though Prince William seems like an entitled, jealous, pratt with his sibling rivalry. Not a good look for a future King.
I wish both Harry and Meghan well in the future, and look forward to reading any autobiography she may come out with in the future.

The story of Effie had me riveted. Her perseverance and goodness carried her through the consequences of a poorly made decision to find her sister. Every time I thought the story was going into a particular direction, it took a turn. Mabel's story was equally intriguing, despite her tough exterior, she had a heart of gold.
I recomend The Girls With No Name with 5 stars.

Clanlands is listed as a historical adventure with Sam Heughan and Graham Mctavish. However, it is really a book about Sam Heughan and Graham Mctavish in the setting of historical Scotland. Evidently, they made their adventures into a podcast and then a TV show, Men in Kilts, and then wrote the Clanlands book about the trip and making it the series. (I did not see series, it probably would have helped for some references, but I no longer have STARZ).

I am reviewing the audiobook of Clanlands. If you do not know who Sam or Graham are, and are picking this up solely for history, I would put the book down, there are others that will achieve your historical curiosity. However, if you are a fan of Sam and Graham, and the TV show, Outlander, you would enjoy this book. As a fan of history, Outlander books & TV, and the actors, I ordered Clanlands thinking it was mainly Scottish History, so on that front I was disappointed. They did an excellent job on Glencoe & Culloden but not as in depth about other sites.
The audiobook shows Sam & Graham know their audience (female, die-hard smitten). Instead of reading as themselves on a roadtrip, they each affect a suave sexy voice to narrate (as a fan of Sam, he doesn't really speak like that in interviews) they lessen up as they go on. Graham has a naturally cultured voice, but Sam keeps his semi-suave persona throughout. Unfortunately, that doesn't really work when speaking about playing some hijinks on your traveling companion, a more boyish, playful tone would have been better.
As a fan, it's a lot of fun as the guys rib each other along the adventure "Sam is a perpetual 9 year old" in the words of Graham Mctavish. The two actors spend a lot of time reminiscing about their careers, in Sam's case hawking his whiskey (which Graham points out); And, reminiscing about time spent together on Outlander, plot and shooting, with little behind the scenes glimpses. At some points of the journey, they enlisted Outlander cast members. My favorite was the description of Gary McHugger Lewis, my personal favorite Outlander cast member. The description of Lewis, his effect on people and breakdown of a Gary Lewis hug was perfect, I really need to see this episode of their Men in Kilts TV show.
If you know these two men, and are fans, you will find the audiobook enjoyable, funny, and may learn a little about the history and I recommend giving it a listen.

I am a Kristen Ashley fan, but find many of her books formulaic. The Time in Between is sincere and earnest in it's storytelling. It's fresh, and though it still has Ashley's voice, it doesn't fall into the conveyances of some of her other books. I really appreciate the time she took to build characters. I reccomend the Magdalene series to those who love Hallmark movies and happy endings.

A biography of Sylvia a ghetto survivor. Told in the first person narrative of a child from age 4 to 10 about life in the ghetto and the personal bravery exhibited by her father's 'gut' feeling to keep his family alive during a shameful period in world history.
This is a story that must be told so the world will never forget the atrocities perpetrated against millions of Jews, and others deemed as 'less than' for ethnic cleansing. When we understand that we all bleed red, then can we never repeat and perpetuate these crimes against humanity on other ethnic and religious groups.

Another Nocturn Falls book. I love this series. It's not literary genius, but the series is clever and a whole lot of fun.

I fell in love with Nocturn Falls in book 1 . The Vampire's Mail-order Bride when it was on sale through Bookbub.
Then I bought the whole series.

In Nocturn Falls, supernaturals have a safe haven. It is a town where every day is Halloween. The supernaturals are just like everyone else, but they have special gifts. In this town, everyone seems to have love issues.

I adore Julian and it was fun to have him finally get his own story. I can't wait until Aunt Bertie also gets her own book. She was pretty bad-ass in this one.
