Anticlimatic
Revisado: 03-26-24
I liked getting a close up look at a normal family with all their flaws as well as strengths. I didn't fall in love with any of the characters, but liked them well enough. Joy was a bit annoying with her all-too trusting and totally naive behavior towards Savannah. She treated her as if she was this poor victim when in reality she is anything but. I just don't like when the "victim" wins and they are more psychopathic than victim and Joy was dumb enough to fall for her manipulation. The ending not satisfying at all. Too many loose ends. But I guess a book this long had to find an exit strategy and just picked one.

Entertaining
Revisado: 09-25-23
Like all books in this genre, this was an entertaining book that helps me pass the time. Unexpected twists and I liked the ending. I didn’t like the weak and stupid main character, Meredith. Kind of hard to believe how she was pushy in the medical arena like she thought she was a doctor (very annoying) but yet so incredibly stupid and weak when it came to the rest of her life. The only one I liked were Josh and the girl who escaped from the basement and wished she could have been a main character. But I still like listening to these books as they help past the time while doing mundane chores

Revisado: 07-08-23
Extremely entertaining, hard to put down, full of twists and surprises. This is probably my favorite book in this genre and unlike many books where I just wanted it to hurry up and end so I could find out what happens, with this book, I didn't mind the journey as the writing is so good, It was a joy to listen to.

Love everything but the bisexuality
Revisado: 04-29-23
I have read all of her novels and enjoyed them all, but have been put off by the bisexuality prevalent in her Dawnland series. It kind of makes my stomach turn to get descriptive narrative of a man penetrating another man in another, earlier book in this series. This book wasn't as graphic but it takes away from the story to have this normalized. The performance is stellar, but the story was a bit off-putting.

Just wish the characters were better humans
Revisado: 01-31-23
Lots of twists and turns, but evil and flawed characters. None of them likeable and mostly pathetic. I would give this book 5 stars due to all the twists and turns and good writing if at least the protagonist was likeable. She was the one I disliked the most. What a weak, pathetic target for scammers.

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Good insight into her issues
Revisado: 10-21-22
The author is very insightful into her issues and tells how she slowly gains control of her life and heals herself. It was interesting to hear first hand what eating disorders look like and also how her relationship with her mother screwed her up without her being aware of how that impacted her life until she did some work around it. I enjoy reading about any type of psychological issues and how they are overcome as well as being afforded a look into her private life which must have been hard to disclose to the world.
