Historia
The construction of the world's first truly accurate clock starts a race against, well, time. For if the perfect clock starts ticking, Time, as we know it, will stop. And then the trouble will really begin. Subtle, sly, thought-provoking, and hilarious, Thief of Time is Terry Pratchett at his best. "This delightful production keeps the listener spellbound," says AudioFile.

love the book!
Revisado: 04-25-22
Fantastic book!! Good narration. Mediocre audio quality. It sounded a litte hollow, like an old recording or low quality microphone. nut the story was too fantastic to stop listening over that. Maybe Audible can fox that??

Sixteen-year-old Kaye is a modern nomad. Fierce and independent, she travels from city to city with her mother’s rock band until an ominous attack forces Kaye back to her childhood home. There, amid the industrial, blue-collar New Jersey backdrop, Kaye soon finds herself an unwilling pawn in an ancient power struggle between two rival faerie kingdoms – a struggle that could very well mean her death.

Just not for me
Revisado: 01-29-20
While it was technically proficient and well written, the story itself rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe I would like a different book by this author better?
while there was nothing wrong with the narration itself, I didn't enjoy it either.

Historia
Four months have passed since the shadow stone fell into Kell's possession. Four months since his path crossed with Delilah Bard. Four months since Rhy was wounded and the Dane twins fell, and the stone was cast with Holland's dying body through the rift, and into Black London. In many ways, things have almost returned to normal, though Rhy is more sober, and Kell is now plagued by his guilt.

An incredible adventure with incredible characters
Revisado: 01-22-20
A fitting sequel that expands beautifully on the characters and the world. At the end of A Darker Shade of Magic we knew they would meet again; here they start separate, showing their character progression as individuals. This book was exciting, it kept me wondering and hoping about where each turn if the story would go next.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention that Lila Bard is a fantastic character who inspires me greatly. Can I be her when I "grow up"? Though truly all her characters are excellent, with depth and flaws and all the things that make a character real.
Also I liked the narration of this one better than the first book.

Broke, almost homeless, and recently fired. Those are my official reasons for answering a wanted ad for a skeevy-looking bartender gig. It went downhill the moment they asked me to do a trial shift instead of an interview - to see if I'd mesh with their "special" clientele. I think that part went great. Their customers were complete dickheads, and I was an asshole right back. That's the definition of fitting in, right? I expected to get thrown out on my ass. Instead, they...offered me the job?

I already listened to the author's Red Winter series (and loved it) so decided to give this one a try. I flew through it enjoying every moment! The main character is firey with a quick temper, and supporting characters are unique and memorable. It had a perfect blend of fantasy actuon, humor, and an enjoyable romance arc. I reccomend it!

Historia
The Unfolded World is a bitter and unfriendly place for Daniel Carter and Emily Lovecraft. In this world the Cold War never happened because the Soviet Union ceased to exist in 1941. In this world the Nazi Großdeutschland is the premier superpower and is not merely tolerated but indulged because, in this world, the Holocaust happened behind the ruins of the Iron Curtain and consumed only Bolsheviks, Communists, and others the West was glad to see gone. In this world there are monsters, and not all of them are human.

Fight against cosmic horror and nazi superscience
Revisado: 07-02-19
I was very curious when I first saw the title. How do you write an entire book AFTER the end of the world? Well I found out and I love it! Our two protagonists from the first book go up against lovecraftian horrors, and evil nazi super science. Plus we get some understanding on old questions, such as who was the man who got Carter and Lovecraft into this in the first place. Then new questions arrise, making me think there will be a third book. I hope so because I'm very interested
Also the narrator had his work cut out for him with the large variety of voices and accents in this book. He managed to keep them all consistent and the accents weren't awful.

In this third book in the thrilling and epic Book of the Ancestor trilogy from international best-selling author Mark Lawrence, powerful novice Nona Grey must fight to survive in "a fantastic world in which religion and politics are dark and sharp as swords, with magic and might held in the hands of wonderful and dangerous women".

Fantastic! So worth it!
Revisado: 05-10-19
I had this preordered and was literally counting down the days till its release. I was not dissapointed! I found myself working through it slower than I usually do, trying to savor every moment. I even dreamed about the events twice, and I don't normally have book dreams.
No spoilers, but if someone asked me how I felt durring the build up to the final showdown I would have said "very worried". The author did a fantastic job weaving everything together into this beautiful creation. I had tearry eyes more than once, both the sad and happy type.
Without naming anyone I will say there were casualties of beloved characters. A few of them I didn't even realize how much I loved untill they were gone. I won't name them, but I will say they all had fitting ends.
So many secrets, so much suspense, it all unravels across the story in a way that makes sence but keeps you guessing. I was on the edge of my seat through the entire second half. I think this is the last in this series (maybe?) and if so it is a fitting end to a short but fantastic series.

Once, Emi believed the heavenly gods were righteous and wise, while the earthly yokai spirits were bloodthirsty and evil. But with a traitorous deity poised to destroy her world, and the yokai standing as humanity's only defense, the lies of her upbringing have toppled to reveal a far more terrifying reality. Despite the looming threat, Emi can't escape her greatest distraction: Shiro, the fox yokai who has so deftly claimed her heart for his own.

AMAZING! So well done
Revisado: 03-20-19
This was an incredible finale to a fabulous trilogy! All three books are worth the time, I flew through each of them!
This one sets up the end of the story and wraps it all up beautifully. As the end nears the suspense never drops, you are still guessing what will happen next. Even after the final battle, the author takes the time to wrap everything up. No cliffhanger.
I'll be honest, I got very emotional towards the end (which I dont do often). I have grown to love these characters, through all their challenges and achievements I was cheering them along. Incredibly well written and designed. I already plan to relisten in the future

A fitting and fantastic sequel!
Revisado: 03-08-19
Just like the first book, I devoured it in no time flat and made sure to have the next one ready when I finished. The world is interesting, the story is well paced, and the characters have depth that develops over time (my favorite in a book).
I can definitely see myself re-listening these in the future, and hope the third book is just as wonderful!

I loved this story! I wasnt sure if I would like it but decided to give it a try anyways. Worth it! I'm going to start the 2nd book in the series right away.
When I first started listening I thought the narrator's breathy voice and gasps for the main character was a bit much, but it ended up working really well for the character. The voice she does for Shiro is fantastic!

Dr. Greta Helsing has inherited the family's highly specialized and highly peculiar medical practice. She treats the undead for a host of ills - vocal strain in banshees, arthritis in barrow-wights, and entropy in mummies. It's a quiet, supernatural-adjacent life until a sect of murderous monks emerges, killing human and undead Londoners alike. As terror takes hold of the city, Greta must use her unusual skills to stop the cult if she hopes to save her practice - and her life.

Good but slow
Revisado: 02-25-19
I would prefer to rate this a 3.5 stars but foodreads doesn't do halves. Its a unique idea and well executed. Unfortunately I dont have the patience for al the slow moments of drinking coffee, wanting to cry over little things, and wishinf she had nicer things. Those slowed it down, and watered down the fantasy with the mundane.
Still if you want something with a new look at classic fantasy (vampires, demons, ghouls etc) its a fun read. Great supporting characters too
