This book is gruesome, haunting and depressing, while simultaneously making the reader feel appreciative for modern luxuries like social / financial safety nets, labor laws, food safety regulations, and fair financial practices.
If one wants to ask why regulatory over-site is necessary in regards to labor, or the manufacture of food, you have no further to go than this book.

Fun sci-fi adventure with chivelry and romance.

A fun science fiction adventure with a gruff, sympathetic anti-hero type lead. Sprinkled with a little dark humor, this book has a political plot that reminds me a bit of star wars, but without the space wizard thing.
The plot was full of twists and turns to keep the reader from ever being certain there could be a happy ending.
The performance was great. Now I will say I am biased there. The reader is a close friend whom served with me honorably in the Navy on a fast attack Submarine. Overall I am impressed that he could record an audiobook.
I enjoyed the story and would read a sequel, even without my friend performing it, although I hope he does.

I expected this book to be hilarious and it didn’t disappoint! I didn’t; however, expect a legitimate lesson in gratitude from the “Pretty Boy Persona” of Matt; however thats exactly what I found. Substance over Bravado, with a wonderful amount of reverence. If you were ever enlisted you will probably love this book. Thank you Matt for your service and your continued commitment to the veteran community!
