Historia
When, at age forty-six, Nancy Pelosi, mother of five, asked her youngest daughter if she should run for Congress, Alexandra Pelosi answered: “Mother, get a life!” And so Nancy did, and what a life it has been. In The Art of Power, Pelosi describes for the first time what it takes to make history—not only as the first woman to ascend to the most powerful legislative role in our nation, but to pass laws that would save lives and livelihoods, from the emergency rescue of the economy in 2008 to transforming health care.

Whatever you this of her, she’s brilliant
Revisado: 08-30-24
You may not agree with her politics but you have to admit she’s good at her job. She only put one bill on the floor without knowing are already had the votes and she kept her caucus together. She knows how to do her job. It was cool hearing it ready directly from the woman herself. Overall a really good listen. Hope it includes this presidential election cycle in a future retelling

Well written
Revisado: 04-03-23
Obviously the content is tough and I get why some people think it’s blaming Missoula when their rape situation isn’t uncommon for cities their size. Fair. But I do think campus rape culture and specifically college athletics make this a more compelling story. I’d like to read a book like this on Tuscaloosa because I bet it’s similar. I thought it was a compelling read & something I would read again probably.

Came for TR, great story
Revisado: 11-30-21
I came to learn more about the beginnings of TR and loved learning more of Jakes story. It was great to have the story read by the author himself.

Historia
In Our Bodies, Their Battlefields, longtime intrepid war correspondent Christina Lamb makes us witness to the lives of women in wartime. An award-winning war correspondent for 25 years (she’s never had a female editor) Lamb reports two wars - the “bang-bang” war and the story of how the people behind the lines live and survive.

Sad story but necessary
Revisado: 05-26-21
This was an incredibly depressing narrative but absolutely needed. It was really tough to not be angry with how little progress has been made in this area of crime. I’ve read other books by Christina lamb and very much enjoy her writing style. The narrator was also really strong.
