A surprise gem of a story!
Revisado: 11-09-23
I was just trying to fill up some time space between release dates of new books in other series I listen to, that was all this was supposed to be, filler. Imagine my surprise when the story was so awesome I already want a 4th installment and I just finished this one three minutes ago. Great story! Great narrator, in all except how he pronounces “mana”. Hoping for another book or at least a follow up series on life after ascension.

Historia
Of course, if there were only one thing under Liscor, there would be far less to fear. However, the dungeon continues to be a threat. At the same time, Goblins continue to roam northern Izril, but not all of them are as hostile to people as Tremborag or the Goblin Lord. Will the Unseen Emperor of Riverfarm make that distinction, however? A reckoning is coming as old faces and new reemerge. And all the while, The Wandering Inn is still serving food and respite and even plays to adventurers and Antinium alike. But something is coming from the dungeons. And it—they—are hungry.

Revisado: 12-02-22
The subject line says it all! I just finished it today and I want the next one already. Best series ever! It’ll make you laugh and cry at the same time. And the narrator is AMAZING! She makes these books incredible. The story is awesome by itself, but she brings it to life.

Historia
A floating fortress occupied by warrior gnomes. A castle made of sand. A derelict submarine guarded by malfunctioning machines. A haunted crypt surrounded by lethal traps. It was supposed to be easy. One bubble. Four castles. Fifteen days. Capture each one, and the stairwell is unlocked. Here's the thing. It's never easy. Carl and his team can't go it alone. Not this time. They must rely on the help of the low-level, I-can't-believe-these-idiots-are-still-alive crawlers trapped in the bubble with them. But can they be trusted?

Haven’t had this much fun in a while
Revisado: 09-05-22
It has been a minute since I felt compelled enough to write a review. But four books in to this series, and it has set a new bar in the litrpg world. The story weaving is stellar, twists and turns at every corner. But take the outstanding story and world creation aside, let’s talk about narrator performance. I have my favorites, we all do, but I believe someone was trying to change my mind about who is top of my list. Jeff Hays just brought this story to life in all ways possible. How can one convey the sense of feel or taste through written word? Have Jeff Hays read it for you and now you too know what it tastes like after hearing him read it. The story is solid on its own, but comes to ••chef’s kiss•• utter perfection with the narrator’s talents. Love this series and My new favorite narrator.

New to me author and was not disappointed! This is a wonderful story, good characters, and I love the authors focus on character over general plot. Don’t get me wrong, there is a plot, but time spent on development of character is beautifully balanced within the plot. I loved it! On to book 3!

Narration at its finest!!
Revisado: 05-05-22
The story is amazing from book one to now, and the author spins a tale like none other! It’s fun, it emotional, it is well written and just high quality LITRPG all around. But can we talk about the narrator for a second. If people could win awards for these narration performances(is that a thing?)I would nominate Andrea Parsneau for every single book in this series. She is incredible. The story is solid by itself, but add in her and it becomes like an audio only movie complete with different actors for different characters, each worthy of an academy award. Each character is individually defined by her tremendous talent. She brings the story to life.

Historia
Sacred Valley has been saved...at least, what’s left of it. With his home finally secure, Lindon delves deep into the ancient labyrinth, seeking long-lost Soulsmithing knowledge and the secret to destroying the Dreadgods. Monarchs plot against him and against each other, unaware of the threats gathering in realms beyond. Far above Lindon and the Monarchs and the Dreadgods, another war is waged. Suriel and the Abidan clash against the Mad King and his forces in a battle for the fate of many worlds. And if it is lost, Cradle will be destroyed.

It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

The story is amazing and the narrator is great no matter what anyone says. Yes, he pronounces some things in ways not used to but it doesn’t take away from his performance. The world is made life! The story is amazing and clever and well thought out. I haven’t been able to stop listening.
