Historia
It’s been two years since Anna Cartwright’s life fell apart. During her first school trip as a young teacher, a student went missing and was never found. Not only was her career ruined, she was also accused of having an affair with fellow teacher and prime suspect Graham. Facing questions from journalists, police and family, Anna said she didn’t know what happened. She was lying. Now, Anna has returned to Australia. Her only hope is Land’s End Area School, an isolated concrete wasteland perched on the cliffs.

Unexpected Surprise!
Revisado: 12-31-24
I started this with the intention of turning it off as soon as it started to bore. But that never happened. The storyline was gripping and the author painted such descriptive details that I could see the scenery and feel the uneasiness of the school. It was narrated beautifully and kept me completely engaged. Except for the fact I had to keep stopping to look up the meanings of words unique to Australia, (which was actually pretty fun) I blew through this as quickly as

Historia
Kidnappers grabbed Jenna in broad daylight, right in front of her children and their horrified classmates. Her family was issued an insane ransom demand: $25 million in cash and jewels, payable by the end of the school day, otherwise they’ll never see her again. As Jenna’s mother scrambles to gather the money, detectives Mo Butler and George Ortega follow the trail of the kidnappers, which will lead them through a sordid landscape of jealous lovers, broken dreamers, and twisted schemers. But every second counts, and there’s one thing Jenna Wade doesn’t have: very much time.

Was just okay.
Revisado: 12-19-24
A bit cheesy to be honest. The whole thing was predictable and a bit over the top. The story and dialog was trying too hard, ya know? Like it was trying to be this big mystery with some kind of BIG "a-ha" moment at the end. The narrator even says that, "your hair will stand on end!" And, "just wait till you see how it all unfolds!" But then it all unfolds exactly as one would expect. A cliché ending with a cliché motive and very over-the- top performances. Not the worst few hours I've spent. But I wish someone would have told me to skip it.

Historia
After the killing of a prominent mob lawyer, NYPD homicide detectives Jacob Jackson and Caitlin Grimes start receive chilling, written “rules” for how to commit the perfect murder. "Rule number one for the perfect murder: Evidence is your enemy. Leave none behind." Jackson (Reid Scott) and Grimes (Cobie Smulders) race to find the killer, setting them on a collision course with the city’s crime underbelly, and a perpetrator who seems happy to toy with them. “Rule number two. No crimes of passion. The perfect murder is always business, never pleasure.”

Historia
Three months ago, Tansy Bloom quit monster hunting. Since then, she’s been trying to live a normal life (whatever that means), but ending up single, unemployed, and living on a boat outside her godfather’s pub definitely wasn’t part of the plan. So, when Tansy’s ex-husband – fellow monster hunter Rex Barclay – turns up like a bad penny and asks for her help with his latest investigation, Tansy reluctantly agrees. At first, the job appears to be a straightforward monster hunt – following a spate of large creature sightings, Rex believes a werewolf is on the loose in Norfolk.

Historia
It’s Halloween night, 1984, in Coventry, Massachusetts, and two families are unraveling. Up and down the street, horrifying secrets are being revealed, and all the while, mixed in with the trick-or-treaters of all ages, four children who do not belong are walking door to door, merging with the kids of Parmenter Road. Children in vintage costumes with faded, eerie makeup. They seem terrified, and beg the neighborhood kids to hide them away, to keep them safe from The Cunning Man.

Great character relationships. Would've loved a little more backstory of the "Evil Doers".
Revisado: 09-11-24
By the time you get to the end of this book, you will feel like you've lived next door to the people in this neighborhood. Which makes what happens to them, all the more terrifying.
I wish the author had given more time to the back story of the "bad guys". By the time we get to the actual "horror" of it, it goes by in a blip with no explanation of the why, the where, or the how. Still, the story was great. And the characters were so well developed. The narration was exceptionally good! Both narrators captured the tone and feel of the story. 5 out of 5 recommend!
I'm going to check to see if there's a sequel. If there's not, I certainly hope there will be!

Henry and Nomi are thrilled to find out they’re going to be parents. There is so much to think about, so many decisions they’ll need to make, about feeding schedules and childcare and schools. But there’s one decision they never would have imagined facing, and even considering the choice is a minefield of emotions and experiences and expectations. After all, the only thing that hangs in the balance is the course of their child’s life.

A beautiful description of the human races potential for love and evolution and it's tendency toward reduction and supremacy.

Great continuation of the first novel. Filling out the characters, nicely and lots of action! Still a bit too much describing of food or mundane technology, but overall, a really fun listen.

Historia
My name is Kazimir Wolfe. People call me "Kaz", except they don’t. I never use my real name; it’s too dangerous, for me and for anyone I meet. I’m on the run from the law, who think I killed my aunt, and from whoever did kill her, because they want to finish the job. So, I move around a lot, working construction or whatever job I can find. It’s a lonely life. I don’t let anyone get close...people who get close to me end up dead. Why? I’m a wizard. The world’s only wizard, as far as I know.

Great Story that unfolds through different perspectives.
Revisado: 02-27-24
The delivery was impeccable! I only wish I could have made a few edits to the story for my OWN satisfaction. But stories aren't always what you expect or want them to be. That being said, I think the author knew exactly what she was doing. And the result is a mystery that has you guessing, hoping, and squirming til the unexpected end!
