review for series
Revisado: 06-10-19
So glad I got around to trying Jeff Wheeler. Great characters that you care about. There are love stories but not mushy or full of sexual encounters. Kate Rudd does a great job as reader and glad she did the entire series. The magic is interesting and different. Not a bad book amongst them.

Historia
If 14-year-old Cassandra Reed makes it through her first day at Miss Castwell’s Institute for the Magical Instruction of Young Ladies without anyone discovering her secret, maybe, just maybe, she’ll let herself believe that she really does belong at Miss Castwell’s. Except Cassandra Reed’s real name is Sarah Smith and up until now, she lived her whole life in the Warren, serving a magical family, the Winters, as all non-magical “Snipes” are bound by magical Guardian law to do. That is, until one day, Sarah accidentally levitates Mrs. Winter’s favorite vase in the parlor....

Historia
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

Good story with potential but did not reach it. Even though it was an excellent premise I do not feel that it was fleshed out in a way that it could have been. Not my favorite genre so maybe I'm being harder than most. It did mostly hold my interest until the end.

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

unexpected gem
Revisado: 03-02-19
I downloaded this title based on reviews and only listened when everything else on my ipod had been listened to because I really didn't expect to like it that much. Not really my genre. OMG this was one of the best books I have listened to in a very long time. Cassandra Campbell was awesome as narrator. You just fall in love with this character and was sad to see the story end.

loved it
Revisado: 09-26-18
I have not read Mr Rowe's other series and put off looking at this one for a long time. I hate to start series when they first come out and wait so long for the next one. Starting out I thought maybe not so much but not far in got hooked. Nick is the consummate reader and elevates this book. The characters were interesting and likable. There is a lot of room for these characters to grow and that will make the series even better. I look forward to the next installment.

good read
Revisado: 08-31-18
I was expecting to be disappointed because of several less than stellar reviews. I was pleasantly surprised that this was as good as all the previous books in this series. Alanson is just a good writer period. Tim Gerard Reynolds is a top notch reader and brings this story to life. I would recommend this series and have read all his books. Can't wait for more.

The ancient alien AI they nicknamed Skippy is apparently dead, and even if they can by some miracle revive him, he might never be the same.
