Historia
Two kids meet in a hospital gaming room in 1987. One is visiting her sister, the other is recovering from a car crash. The days and months are long there. Their love of video games becomes a shared world—of joy, escape and fierce competition. But all too soon that time is over, fades from view. When the pair spot each other eight years later in a crowded train station, they are catapulted back to that moment. The spark is immediate, and together they get to work on what they love—making games.

I wish this had been top of the other reviews I read before I bought this. It would have meant I bought the book earlier. These are my people. And I love this book. Absolutely brilliant. Even if gamers are not your people.

Another great story in the Queens Thief series. I read all three books in one week and thoroughly enjoyed them all. I liked Steve West’s narrations as well.
Intrigue, kings and queens, love and war - a great combination.

Intrigue, a disreputable thief and a magus
Revisado: 02-13-21
Along with the two apprentices and their guard, they set out on a quest to find a magical stone. And they say you should never trust a thief, so why do we trust him as he narrates their adventures...
A delightful story with twists and turn enough to keep my attention. Very enjoyable.

Fabulous story of possible chances
Revisado: 02-10-21
The narrator Carey Mulligan really added to this story. I loved her voice and how she read.
The story itself is enticing and charming - the midnight library holds all the possible lives you could have lived. A chance to change every regret you have in your life. So which life would you choose?

Romance with a full bodied drenching in champagne- read on
Revisado: 02-03-21
Great love story, well written, set against the backdrop of Champagne growing areas in France during WW1. Never has so much information been given in a novel - in this case about making champagne- in such an interesting way. I know all about it now, normally I gloss over these bits in a book. But the way it was written was enticing and nicely woven into the plot.
This is a 5 star for lovers of romance and the fence accent!

Book 3 in the series did not disappoint
Revisado: 01-23-21
The third book In the series, with more battles, revelations and an angry powerful woman. I enjoyed this book as much as the other two and was both surprised, excited & disappointed in the ending- it was beautiful in other words. Good for those who like war & superhuman powers, set in a ‘Victorian’ age parallel Asia.

A classic masterpiece
Revisado: 08-29-20
What I noticed while listening to The Bell was the way in which things and events are described. Iris Murdoch uses a rich turn of phrase which embodies the work as if being painted in bright colours upon a canvas. It’s even seeping into the ether as I write this review.
A slow and meandering and fully immersive story of a bell and a group of people in a order who bring with them all the trials and emotions of their past lives.

Complicated & new
Revisado: 07-19-15
The bone season has a complicated plot introducing clairvoyance as a almost magical trait for which you can be jailed in Britain. The reasons for his soon become clear as in the city of Oxford strange aliens gather 'voyance humans to fight their enemies.
It is a complicated plot with many twists and characters that were hard to follow. I've read the bone clocks and the cloud atlas so I'm used to complicated but this one was the most confusing. I think it might have been easier had I been reading not listening to it.
However I can wait to read/listen to the next book. Great plot and engaging characters.
