Another good suspenseful murder mystery story
Revisado: 07-03-23
I again enjoyed this suspenseful. Murder mystery by Joy Ellis. I am sad that there is only one more book in the series and I will pause before reading the final one, so I can savor it. This one and the prior books in the series have been complex and suspenseful. I highly recommend them.

Liked it!
Revisado: 02-22-23
This is 3rd Dan Riley book by Anna-Lou Weatherley. Interesting story line with some realistic suspense. I like Dan’s back story that somewhat balanced out the content of the grisly crimes - for me anyway.

Loved the Austin setting
Revisado: 02-05-23
As a resident of central Austin, I loved the setting and details of this book. It has a creative, quite complicated plot - and I found it interesting and easy to get into. It will be a fun pick for my book club, a group of Austin moms with teenagers.

I found this to be a complicated and interesting story. The start up is a little slow, but needs to be in order to understand what’s happening in the storyline. Found it to be an interesting read. I highly recommend it!

Interesting but sappy
Revisado: 06-25-22
The storyline and content was definitely interesting and it was a more unusual romance novel. The supporting info regarding OCD seemed authentic and educative. But the dialogue was pretty sappy. I tired quickly of Tilly’s long musings and I didn’t find the love story believable, especially the actions of some characters, especially some of the more rash ones of James. It’s hard to believe Tilly would so seriously involve herself - and her child - with him given the circumstances and his behavior. Additionally the fact that the only three men in Tilly’s life were that drop dead gorgeous is implausible. I prefer more realistic narration and less mooning - it’s unbelievable that men go on and on as James did about loving a woman he’d just met - OCD or not.

Judith Kratt inherited all the Kratt family had to offer - the pie safe, the copper clock, the murder that no one talks about - and she knows in her old bones that it's time to make an inventory of her household and its valuables. But she finds that cataloging the family belongings - as well as their misfortunes - won't contain her family's secrets, not when her wayward sister suddenly returns, determined to expose skeletons that the Kratts had hoped to take to their grave.

This is a notable work but requires a lot of focus
Revisado: 04-16-22
I truly enjoyed this story and the performance was very good. However it moves very slowly and requires quite a bit of attention. My hesitancy to give it five stars across-the-board probably lies in the fact that when I often listen to books instead of reading them I don’t always give them the attention they require, as I may be doing other activities such as driving, shopping taking walks, etc. I found it a little hard to follow in the first chapters. But edit it’s ending I see that that is needed and intentional by the author. I see that it definitely all comes around full circle and the characters are indeed interesting complex and believable. I do recommend giving it the attention and focus it requires to make it a rewarding story.
