An Absolutely Gorgeous Audible Experience

I could swim in Jeremy Irons' voice, and the story is amazing too. I always thought this was a weird pedophile book, but it's more like a cat and mouse game being described by the cat.
Humbert is the purest example of an unreliable narrator, and I feel like the people who hate this book do so because they mistake Humbert's attempts to force you to sympathize with him for the author himself attempting to do that. He's like Rorschach or Rick Sanchez; if you idolize him, you don't understand the story or the character.
The imagery is incredibly vivid as well, making the grotesque appear beautiful. I cannot suggest this highly enough.
