Historia
You will never read Denny Younger's name in any history book, will never know what he's done. But even if you did, you'd never believe it. The world as you know it wouldn't be the same without him. Denny was born into one of the lowest rungs of society, but his bleak fortunes abruptly change when the mysterious Upjohn Institute recruits him to be a Rewinder, a verifier of personal histories. The job at first sounds like it involves researching old books and records, but Denny soon learns it's far from it.

It made me frustrated
Revisado: 12-15-18
I went in with almost no expectations, it was recommended to me by audible, and in the beginning it was great, a new story, an alternative world and idea, but about halfway through an event happened and now it is just frustrating to listen to. Nothing is happening, the story is dull and opinionated and even the voice of the narrator is annoying. I am missing the last 2 hours of the book but I will not be able to finish it.

It is a classic
Revisado: 11-04-15
What did you like best about Pride and Prejudice [Blackstone Audio]? What did you like least?
I like the story. It is a classic. I love that they break with societies rules and have success.
I did not like the length of description for every single item in every single room, but then again, they did not have television so Austen had to paint a VERY descriptive picture to make sure people understand the story in full details.
What didn’t you like about Carolyn Seymour’s performance?
I had a hard time distinguishing the characters. I could not hear the difference between who was talking and it confused me. Carolyn has the perfect high pitched voice for the annoying mother, but she made Elisabeth sound like an elderly woman.
Any additional comments?
I am thinking of returning it

Not that impressing
Revisado: 09-25-15
I really like the combination of John Scalzi and Wil Wheaton, and John Scalzi is a really good writer but this story never really caught my interest and the ending seemed too convenient for the main characters. I would believe that if you have aliens from outer space as clients you would invest more time in them instead of just going on with your everyday life, or maybe that is just me. The story should be called "A couple of weeks in the life of an agent - with a sprinkle of alien lifeform"

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Amazing book, of course!
Revisado: 09-25-15
I chose this book because it won all those awards and now it is being made into a film, I had to know what all the fuzz was about, and I usually have success with books that goes to the big screen.
Of course this was an amazing book, it was interesting and entertaining from start to finish. You need to own this book if you don't! I would read it again in a heartbeat. Amazing performance too. You really care about Mark (the main character) and not to bring any spoilers but i reached the end of the book on the bus and nearly started crying out loud because I was so into the book and the destiny of Mark.

A completely new story
Revisado: 08-24-15
It is a story about the end of the world in a way you have never heard it before. All the voices are brilliant and the story-line is easy to follow. The book is too long for me though. I liked the entire book from the beginning to the ending, but it just kept going for too long so to me the ending became dull, so i listened mostly just to reach the end then to actually hear the story. It is still worth all my time, and I am tempted to listen to the beginning again because it makes more sense when you know the whole story but it will be a while before I want to hear it all the way through again.

the book for the "stay at home mom"
Revisado: 07-03-15
This book is meant for a different age group then the one I claim to belong to. I liked the series "Younger" based on the book, maybe because she was struggling more to fit into her "young" life with the internet-phenomenon happening while she stayed at home. In the series I could identify with the main character (though I am still "young" and not a mom) and I was captivated by her struggle to keep her secret age from her new friends. But the book doesn't have any of that. Everything in this story is just too easy for the main character. It is the dream of a bored house wife. The young lover, the successful job, the rich friend and perfect circumstances.

Prince Liam. Prince Frederic. Prince Duncan. Prince Gustav. You've never heard of them, have you? These are the princes who saved Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Snow White, and Rapunzel, respectively, and yet, thanks to those lousy bards who wrote the tales, you likely know them only as Prince Charming. But all of this is about to change.

Creative thinking
Revisado: 07-03-15
I was completely captivated by the first chapters of this book, the idea was so brilliant, rethinking the fairytales we all know so dearly and giving each of the charmings' personal characteristics. And I loved the different voices for the characters (some a lot more then others) and I adored the charmings personalities. I even got to understand the villain's actions. But the story begins so good, and the ending left me kind of flat. It confused me and left things unresolved, maybe because there are more then one book or maybe because I listen to it too fast or maybe because there was just to many people to keep track of in the end. I really did enjoy it, so it was worth the credit, I just wished it ended differently.

Amazing ordinary life
Revisado: 07-03-15
The story was amazing, I was captivated all the way through. It is a story about making your ordinary life extraordinary, and Simon Vance makes Brother Andrew familiar and trustworthy, as a well known father figure. The book coincided so much with my own life, (except for the timetable), many of Andrews revelations about himself and his life with God fitted perfectly into my own state of life. It will not be the last time I listen to this book.

She is simply to whimpering for my taste
Revisado: 05-21-15
I do not want to read book 3. There is so many problems in this book that is only created because the maincharacter is stubborn, untrustworthy and secretive, I really don't like her character and then she wimpers because people keep her at a distance - go figure.
There was so many unanswered questions in this book and it became so frustrating. I can not imagine this series ending well, so I won't even bother listening to it. I can recommend the Four - series instead. It is so much more thought through and believeable.

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue - Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is - she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

I like the "Four series" better
Revisado: 05-21-15
I read the Four series first, and it gave me alot of knowledge this book didn't. To me, his story is much more thought through, and believable. Yet, I would say this book is the best in the divergent - series. She should have stopped after this one. The love-story between the two main characters is what kept me going most of the way, and I enjoyed Eric and Peters characters, though they are the "evil" ones, they make the story exciting.
