Historia
Over the past several years, Dr. Becky Kennedy—known to her followers as “Dr. Becky”—has been sparking a parenting revolution. Millions of parents, tired of following advice that either doesn’t work or simply doesn’t feel good, have embraced Dr. Becky’s empowering and effective approach, a model that prioritizes connecting with our kids over correcting them. Parents have long been sold a model of childrearing that simply doesn’t work. From reward charts to time outs, many popular parenting approaches are based on shaping behavior, not raising humans.

More than 5 stars!

This book is transformative. I love it’s empathy and collaboration between parent and child. I am learning some ways that *I* had wish I’d been parented, myself, which will help me heal those places that need it. Thank you Dr Becky! I’m a HUGE fan.

Poignant but over wrought
Revisado: 01-17-22
I’m so glad I pushed through the first half of this book. It’s over written and over wrought with vague metaphors that often left me confused about what *actually* happened or what he was trying to convey. But halfway through, he finds his voice and his story after that is beautiful. I appreciated his comments about memories being his (and not necessarily “the truth”) and his that he protected his sister’s story about her mental illness as her story to tell, not his. Gorgeous and heartbreaking and poignant.
