Historia
When Cherringham choir stalwart Arthur Chisholm is robbed in the dead of night, ending up in hospital, it seems he's just the victim of bad luck. Bad timing too, since he will now miss the choir's special holiday performance of Handel's Messiah - to be performed with scores of other local choirs, in London's Royal Albert Hall. But as more of their fellow choir members are burgled, Jack and Sarah realise these crimes are no coincidence.

Again the writers of the Cherringham series have entertained us with great characters, locales and hopes for more of the same. Neil Dudgeon’s narration is perfection.

Always instructive and entertaining
Revisado: 03-23-23
You know you’re in good hands with this author - and the translator and narrator. As with the Sandhamn books, details are key.
Although I sometimes grit my teeth with said details, explanations and somewhat preach-y passages, I continue to purchase and enjoy learning about crime solving and life in Scandinavia. Not to mention the cold weather.
I hope to read and/or hear more about the new characters / locales.

Historia
When Amos Decker is called to South Florida to investigate a double homicide, the case appears straightforward: A federal judge and her bodyguard have been found dead, the judge’s face sporting a blindfold with two eye holes crudely cut out, a clear sign that she’d made one too many enemies over her years on the bench. What at first seems cut and dry is anything but: Not only did the judge have more enemies than Decker can count—from violent gang members, drug dealers, and smugglers to a resentful ex-husband—but the bodyguard presents additional conundrums that muddy the waters even further.

Masterful in every way
Revisado: 02-02-23
As we’ve come to expect! Beautifully rendered by author and narrators. Decker is a fascinating character, and his partner in Long Shadows is and should be a “keeper” in my opinion.
So many elements combine in this book to create a smooth flow that is also complex. Such clever plotting and nuance keep the reader/listener engaged and guessing. Great international intrigue! Descriptions of Florida’s coastal cities are unique and vivid. I did not want it to end. Many thanks, Mr. Baldacci.

The well-plotted trajectory of The Golden Couple keeps you wondering, questioning - and captivated. Unlike others who have written reviews, I was clueless until the (for me) surprise ending.
Characters were fascinating and descriptions of DC and surroundings quite vivid.

Great to meet a new character - Hoon - brought to life with the brilliant narration. It’s tough to combine a difficult subject with such humorous dialogue, written and spoken. I paced around laughing out loud. My husband had to interrupt me several times to listen.
