As a child, Deri was sold to one of the Market"s most powerful merchants. I very much enjoyed the story. There are many layers to the plot, not only in terms of character building and plot lines, but also as a social critic.
However, the best part of the book is no doubt the narrator. Will Watt creates a whole world of characters, this is an absolute delight.

Great!
Revisado: 06-06-24
This is the third book in the captive prince trilogy, and indeed a climax.
The author put the mcs through hell to have them emerge strong and sure of the path they should take. It was not an easy read for me. But so well written that it was worth it

Historia
Alfie Bell is . . . fine. He"s got a six-figure salary, a penthouse in Canary Wharf, the car he swore he"d buy when he was 18, and a bunch of fancy London friends. It"s rough, though, going back to South Shields now that they all know he"s a fully paid-up pansy. It"s the last place he"s expecting to pull. But Fen"s gorgeous, with his pink-tipped hair and hipster glasses, full of the sort of courage Alfie"s never had. It should be a one-night thing, but Alfie hasn"t met anyone like Fen before.

This is one of the best of Alexis Hall’s novels. It is mainly Alfie’s story and his way to finding his place in the world.

The first new Henry Rios novel in 20 years from six-time Lambda Literary award winner Michael Nava is a brilliantly plotted mystery that weaves together the gripping story of two gay men against the backdrop of 1980s San Francisco as the tsunami of AIDS bears down upon the city.

Wonderful and heartbreaking
Revisado: 12-27-23
I hated the first book. The depiction of some if the characters was terrible, I skipped many scenes and yet there was something that made me want to know what happens next for Henry so I kept on reading. The second book was simply amazing. Henry’s character is much more interesting and less formatted. Other figures are also rounded and interesting. The atmosphere of San Francisco in the 80s is thoughtfully presented. I wish there was a way to skip the first book but there really isn’t. But it is worth it

Join David as he encounters his eccentric Aunt Betsey, faithful Peggotty and the villainous Uriah Heep, and as he falls in love with Little Em"ly, Dora and Agnes. And then there is old school friend James Steerforth: dashing, daring and seductive. This dramatisation explores the complexities and intimacies of that relationship beyond anything possible in Dickens" day, in an adaptation giving fresh life and vividness to this beloved tale.

Historia
The Borealis boys are settling into their new normal, or at least into their new digs. But when North’s soon-to-be (please-let-it-be-soon) ex-husband, Tucker, is arrested and charged with murder, everything goes sideways. Hired by Tucker’s parents, North and Shaw begin looking for proof that Tucker is innocent, in spite of the evidence against him. When they find seemingly incriminating photos hidden in Tucker’s BMW, North is convinced that someone is trying to frame Tucker - and might get away with it.

I never expected any of these events. N and S are complicated and so well presented. I love it when authors don’t take the easy way out
