Historia
The year is 1901, and the hustle and bustle of the holidays is descending on New York's Fifth Avenue. For the first time in her privileged life, Adelaide Forsythe couldn’t be happier about the prospect of a quiet Christmas. That’s not to say her transition from Missto Mrs. has been without challenge. Though she doesn’t regret marrying for love instead of wealth, she feels woefully unprepared to run her own household. Then, on the first Sunday of Advent, winter winds bring surprising change, first through a young orphan boy and then a seasoned housekeeper who seems too good to be true.

Historia
Christmas comes early—far too early—to McCredie’s little Old Town bookshop in Edinburgh. It’s summer, but an American production company has decided that McCredie’s is the perfect location to film a very cheesy Christmas movie. After all, who can resist the charmingly narrow historic street with its Victorian grey stone buildings and warmly lit shop windows? Carmen Hogan, the bookshop’s manager, is amused and a bit horrified by the goings-on, but the money the studio is paying is too good to pass up.

Not as good as the first
Revisado: 12-16-24
I didn’t enjoy this story as much as the first one. I don’t care for the ‘miss understanding’ story line. A simple ADULT conversation would have taken care of everything. Great narration again.

Historia
Laid off from her department store job, Carmen has perilously little cash and few options. The prospect of spending Christmas with her perfect sister Sofia, in Sofia’s perfect house with her perfect children and her perfectly ordered yuppie life, does not appeal. Frankly, Sofia doesn’t exactly want her prickly sister Carmen there, either. But Sofia has yet another baby on the way, a mother desperate to see her daughters get along, and a client who needs help revitalizing his shabby old bookshop. So Carmen moves in and takes the job.

Historia
One Christmas Eve in a small hollow in Boone County, West Virginia, struggling songwriter Jesse Walker witnesses a strange spectacle: seven devilish figures chasing a man in a red suit toward a sleigh and eight reindeer. When the reindeer leap skyward, taking the sleigh, devil men, and Santa into the clouds, screams follow. Moments later, a large sack plummets back to earth, a magical sack that thrusts the down-on-his-luck singer into the clutches of the terrifying Yule Lord, Krampus.

Interesting
Revisado: 12-12-24
Not what I thought it would be. I wouldn’t categorize this as horror. It was as intense as most mystery books. Overall I enjoyed the story and the narrator did a good job giving all of the characters distinctive voices.

Historia
An Audio Archive special feature presentation of one of the greatest and most beloved Christmas stories: Miracle on 34th Street. This is the classic movie condensed and performed live as a one-hour radio play by The Lux Radio Theater in 1948. In the words of Lux Theater producer William Keely, "It's wrapped in a gay covering of laughter, tied with a bright ribbon of good humor, and decorated with the three sparkling stars of the 20th Century Fox picture."

Historia
A holiday classic by Charles Dickens. Originally published in 1843, Dickens worried about the disparity between the wealthy and the impoverished, and it was his attempt to bring this disparity into the light of day, to appeal to the die-hard capitalists to take care of the downtrodden masses. Since this inequity continues, this story is still popular, and will probably continue to be so for the foreseeable future.

I don’t believe this isn’t a virtual voice narration. So flat and robotic. I turned it off after 15 minutes. Save your credit and don’t get this.

Historia
My husband has horns, hooves, fur, and a tail. His Krampus-like appearance didn't scare me away from marrying him. Forever an optimist, I eagerly agreed to be the first bride shipped under the new liaison program to Voran, a country on the newly discovered planet Neron. The Colonel also has two little boys—a huge plus for me since I adore children. My down-to-earth sister says I live with my head in the clouds. And maybe I naively hoped for an out-of-this-world romance. What I didn't expect was an out-of-this-world brute.

A cute Christmasish story. Outside of Daisy mentioning an ornament she brought with her a couple of times there isn’t a lot of Christmas until the end. The narrator gave a great performance. Every character had a distinctive voice.

Historia
Max Maurey should be on top of the world. He's a famous horror director. Actors love him. Hollywood needs him. He's making money hand over fist. But it's the 80s, and he's directing cheap slashers for audiences who only crave more blood, not real art. Not real horror. And Max's slimy producer refuses to fund any of his new ideas. But when Max discovers an old camera that filmed a very real Hollywood horror, he knows that he has to use this camera for his next movie. The only problem is that it came with a cryptic warning and sometimes wails.

I think if you’re the kind of person that really, really is interested in knowing all the background stuff that goes with making a movie you’ll enjoy this book. I wish we had more of the story because it was interesting. I enjoyed the narrators performance.

Good story
Revisado: 10-13-24
But the author really, really has an issue with overweight people. Anytime a certain character was mentioned we had to hear how far he was. Hopefully the author has gotten it out of his system and will focus on anything else in future books. The story itself was interesting and creepy. The narrator gave a really good performance.
